I remained in place, waiting for her to obey my command. She started for me, rolling and rocking her hips. I downed the rest of my drink and set the glass aside.

Chloe stopped and beckoned me forward with her finger. For her, I broke my rules. I slid to the floor and crawled my way to her. Once I stopped in front of her, I lifted her onto my shoulders and buried my face in her core. She cried out my name and locked her fingers in my hair.

I groaned into her as I devoured her heat. Slowly, I stood with her legs locked around my head and shoulders. A gasp left her lips.

“Brodi, oh, God, babe. Just like that,” she cooed as she rode my face, her legs locked tightly around my neck.

I moved us to my bedroom and dropped her onto my bed. She tried to crawl back away from me as I wiped my mouth and looked her in her eyes.

“Don’t run now. You wanted my attention. You have it, baby. I’m going to fuck you senseless then pamper you so I can do it all over again,” I crooned as I stripped down.

My phone rings, pulling me from the memory. I bite my lip and squeeze my erection. The ghost of her hot, wet pussy around me feels so real in this moment. I down the glass of brandy in my hand and clear my throat to answer the call.

“Hey, Clay. What you have for me?”

“We can scratch Dad off the list. I don’t think this is him. He proved he has no malice toward Sid. He’s taken to her, and he shut all that legal shit down where she’s concerned. That leaves Wade and Dupont.”

“You still think they’re working together?”

“They have to be. I don’t get the connection if they’re not.” He sighs. “Vault is still looking into it. Some of the other Lost Souls have gotten involved.”

“So we’re back to owing Spider favors?”

“No, this is all going through King. Listen, I’m stretched thin. I need the help this time.”

“I’m not saying anything. Only asking questions. What’s going on with the Ally situation?”

He releases a heavy breath. “She and Cane are still hiding something. Once I know what, this might be easier for me to handle. Still can’t give you more than that over the phone.”

“Okay.”

“Listen, can you have Chloe call Sid? She’s worried about her.”

“I’ll talk to her and have her call tomorrow.”

“Thanks. You sound exhausted.”

“I am.”

“What’s up with you? When are you heading back?”

“I still have some shit I need to handle here. I’ll head back once I get it all straightened out.”

I still haven’t told my brothers about my daughter. There are still so many questions. No one has found Addison’s friend from the hospital. Against my better judgment, I’m still trying to find out what happened that night Chloe was conceived. I know I should give up, but I can’t.

“I’m here if you need me. Get some rest. You think clearer with a fresh mind.”

“Yeah, I know. Good night.”

Chapter 27

I’m Okay

Chloe

Sitting here on the bed in my room, I want to punch something. I hang up the phone, still frustrated with my little sister. She’s always too busy to talk and can’t give me a straight answer about anything.

With the time zone difference, it’s been frustrating as hell trying to reach someone at her school to get some real answers. No one is ever available when I do sync up with their office hours. I want to go into mom mode, but Ally is a twenty-two-year-old woman.

It’s hard to let go of the control and the responsibility I’ve had for so long, especially when I know she’s lying to me. I growl and punch the bed. It does nothing to soothe the burning in my chest.

I sigh. Brodi keeps telling me to give things time. Speaking of Brodi, he mentioned Sid being worried about me. I feel like shit for not returning her calls and texts.

It’s just Sid is my best friend. She knows me too well and I’m barely holding on to my emotions as it is. I’m trying to balance the feelings I think I should have versed the ones I want to have.

I know, crazy, right? My first mind keeps telling me to pack my things and go. Forget the money, forget all this drama, and save my sanity.

However, there’s the other voice in my head telling me to give him a chance to fix this. I roll my eyes before the tears start and dial Sid. It’s now or never.

“Hello.”

I suck in a breath as I hear the panic in her voice. She doesn’t deserve this. I close my eyes and wrap an arm around my middle.

“Hey. What’s up, Sid?”

“Oh my God. Are you okay? Where are you? Clay said you’re in Dubai. Is that true?”
