JESSIE

As usual, Shane is busy working in his office after I put our seven month old twins down for their afternoon nap. He looks up when I walk into the room.

“Hey, sweetheart,” he says with a smile. “Everything okay?”

“Ella and Finn and sleeping,” I reply as I walk toward him.

He narrows his eyes at me and the wicked glint in his eye makes me shiver. “And my brothers?”

“Mikey is out for a run. Liam and Conor are at the club going over some stuff. They’ll all be back for dinner. Mikey is making chili.”

I’m the very lucky lady who gets to be married to all four Ryan brothers, and I thank my lucky stars every damn day that I share my life with the four sexiest and most incredible men in the entire universe, not to mention our two adorable babies.

“So we’re alone?” he asks.

“Yep.”

He holds out a hand to me. “Come here.”

I take his hand and allow him to pull me onto his lap until I’m straddling him.

“Actually,” I whisper as I run my hands over his chest and onto his shoulders. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”

He plants a soft kiss on my neck, making goosebumps prickle over my skin. “What is it?” he murmurs as he goes on kissing my throat.

I lean into him, so easily distracted by his expert mouth. When his hands slide beneath my dress and onto my ass, I suck in a breath. “You have a one track mind, Shane Ryan.”

He chuckles softly. “Says my wife who needs four husbands to keep her satisfied.” He lifts his head from my neck and grins at me. “So, what is it?” he asks again.

I run my fingers through his hair and stare into his beautiful green eyes. “I love you.”

He slips a hand between my thighs, brushing his fingertips over my panties and arching an eyebrow at me in amusement when he finds them already damp. “I know that, but tell me what you want to talk about, so that I can bend you over and fuck you on my desk before the twins wake up.”

“Okay,” I take another deep breath. “I – I feel like you treat me differently since the twins were born.”

He frowns at me and the hurt that flashes in his eyes makes me want to take back what I just said. But it’s too late. It’s already out there. “Do I?”

“Kind of. Don’t you think that you do?”

“No,” he says, pulling his hand from between my legs and running it over his jaw. “How do I treat you differently?”

“Like…” I chew on my lip as I think of an example. “You never get really pissed at me anymore.”

He stares at me. “What?”

“I still try to push your buttons but you never really get mad,” I whisper, realizing how foolish I sound.

“Fuck, sweetheart. I thought you were being serious,” he says as his brow furrows in annoyance.

“I am. Don’t you notice it too? You hardly ever punish me anymore. Take the other night for instance. You specifically told me to wear those pink panties for our date and I purposely didn’t, but you didn’t even get a little mad.”

He blinks at me. “I asked you to wear crotchless panties, sweetheart, and instead you chose to wear none at all. How the fuck was I supposed to be mad about that?”

“But you would have been. Once. You would have punished me for it. I miss your punishments, Shane.”

“I spanked your ass with my belt last night,” he reminds me.

The memory of him doing that makes warmth spread through my core. “I know,” I shuffle forward on his lap, my pussy rubbing over his semi-hard cock. “That wasn’t real punishment though. We were just playing.”

“I don’t know what the fuck to say,” he shakes his head in bewilderment again.

“I’ve noticed it’s been since the babies were born. You’re almost always sweet to me.”

“I can’t believe you’re complaining about this,” he laughs.

“I’m not. I mean, I love your sweet, gooey side. But I also miss the asshole I fell in love with.”

“You want me to be an asshole to you?”

“No. Not all the time. It’s just…” I shrug. I’m finding it hard to put into words without offending him. I place my hands on the back of his neck and chew on my lip as I stare into his eyes.
