The petals weren't supposed to lie…

Ava
I've had bad ideas before, but getting wine-drunk and playing He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not might be my worst yet.
Especially since the subject of my petal-plucking spiral is none other than the world's favorite wide receiver, Dawson Iverson.

I'm convinced he hates me.
Does that stop me from dreaming about him every night?
No.

But dreams are one thing.
Finding him in my bed?

That's another problem entirely.

I'm dangerously close to forgetting all the reasons this can't happen…
and that has disaster written all over it.

Dawson
I fell for Ava Grant the minute our parents introduced us.

She's a sweet little minx who can't lie to save her life.
Unfortunately for both of us, she values her privacy… and that's the one thing I can't give her.

I've tried to stay away.
I've tried to be good.

But when she lies about dating her neighbor?
I snap.

No one touches what's mine. No one.

This pretty little brat is about to learn the truth.
This isn't hate.
This is obsession.

And I'm done playing by the rules

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Ava

One Drunken Night…

Playing childhood games to sort out our futures was a bad idea. I know this because my head is swimming from the four bottles of wine we demolished, I've got a small pile of flower petals in front of me… and my future is not looking rosy.

"It's settled," I say, flopping back against the cushions of Emelia's couch. "He loves me not."

According to the petals, Dawson Iverson, my new stepbrother and the hottest wide receiver on the planet, hates me. I am not sad about this. I'm not. It doesn't even matter if I might, maybe, possibly have the tiniest crush on him.

"What?" Seraphina peers over at me through glossy eyes. "Says who?"

"The petals." I wave in their direction. "I plucked two. The truth has been revealed."

"Bullshit," Nova says, scooping up petals, only to sprinkle them across my legs like some crazed flower girl. "I refuse to believe those petals are telling you the truth. Are you sure you did it right?"

"How do you do it wrong?" Emelia asks. "You pluck the dang petals. I definitely did my cootie catcher wrong, though." She glowers at the folded paper on the coffee table in front of her. "I'm too drunk to count, and that's why it landed on Royce."

"It's a cootie catcher, not rocket science, Em," Seraphina says, laughing. "You did it right."

"Did not," she grumbles, poking the folded paper like she thinks it might bite her. "There's no way it landed on him twice."

"Royce and Emelia sitting in a tree," Nova sings, flopping backward across a pillow on the floor.

"Real mature, Nova." Emelia throws a pen at her, earning loud laughter in response. "We're still waiting for you decide if you're going to fuck, marry, or kill Hux."

"Easy," Nova says, "kill." Her face does not agree with her lie. It scrunches up like she's in the process of changing her mind about her brother's best friend. "Wait…"

I hide a smile behind my hand. One of these days, she'll admit that she's in love with Huxley Saint. At least one of us should get a happily-ever-after out of my stupid idea. It won't be me.

"Ugh," I groan. "If we remember this tomorrow, I'm going to be so mad."

"It was your idea," Seraphina reminds me.

"I know." I crack my eyes open to glare at her. "Why do you think I'm going to be mad?" I'd much rather forget that I spent part of my night eagerly hoping for a damn flower to tell me that Dawson is in love with me.

Let's face it, the man hates me. With a capital H. And now I have to spend every holiday for the rest of my life sitting across from him and his insanely hot scowl.

I am not sad. I'm not.

I may be a liar, though.

Chapter One

Ava

"Mom, I really don't have time for dinner tomorrow," I protest, clutching my cell to my ear as I jog across the parking lot toward my car with my bag tapping against my thigh. "I have a million things to do."

"You don't have to stay long," she says. "Dennis and I just want to see you kids before we leave."

"Leave?" I stop jogging to frown at the phone. My bag stops a full three seconds after I do, slamming into my leg hard enough to send me stumbling two paces. Maybe I should take Emelia's advice and clean it out. "Where are you going?"

"Our flight leaves on Friday, dear."

Crap. I forgot about their honeymoon trip. My new stepfather is taking her on a month-long cruise to celebrate. She's been looking forward to it since he gave her the tickets during their reception last month.

Am I a terrible daughter for forgetting? Probably.

In my defense, I try to block out anything remotely related to spending time with Dawson. It gives me anxiety. I cannot control a room full of thirteen-year-olds five days a week and juggle anxiety. It's just not humanly possible.

"Dawson will be there," Mom says, like she's sweetening the pot. "He'd love to see you. He thinks you've been avoiding him since the wedding."

"I have not." I totally have. Am I telling my mother that? Absolutely not. The last thing I'm admitting to her is that my new stepbrother stars in far too many of my fantasies these days. I see his hot, grouchy ass at dinner, and all I think about is the dirty things he did to me in my dreams the night before. It's all kinds of awkward. "I've just been busy."

"Well, he'd love to see you."

She's dangling a carrot in front of my face without even realizing that I'm addicted to…well, the thought of his carrot. Will I go just to see him? Yes. Of course I will. I have an unhealthy obsession with the man.

It's a sickness, really.

Maybe I need a therapist instead of ridiculous games and too much wine with my three best friends, affectionately known as the Sisterhood. Surely therapy is a better coping mechanism for an unhealthy obsession than plucking petals from a daisy and playing MASH to decide if Dawson loves me or not, right?

In Silver Spoon Falls, love has a way of working itself out in unexpected ways. But nothing could prepare these rough cowboys for the wild, curvy women coming their way.

To tame their hearts and find forever, they'll fight harder than they ever have. Luckily, the sweat in their veins, the dirt on their boots, and the grit in their bones has taught them everything they need to know to go toe-to-toe with fate and come out unconquered.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Wade

"What are you doing?"

"Jesus Christ!" I jump like a startled colt, sending cards flying all over the mostly bare living room when I hear Morgan Hendrix's voice directly behind me. I spin around, only to find her leaning against the doorframe of the cabin, one hand on her pregnant belly.

"Are you always this jumpy?" she asks with a shit-eating grin plastered on her round face, like she isn't the sole reason every cowboy on this ranch has learned to look over his shoulder. For the record, she is.

"Only when you're around," I drawl, kneeling beside the poker table to start gathering up the cards I dropped. A floorboard creaks as I place my knee on it, staring directly at the nine of diamonds sticking upright between two boards.

I pause when I see it, a shiver running down my spine. And then I mutter a curse to myself and pluck it out, adding it to the pile. I'm not a superstitious man. There is no such thing as unlucky or cursed cards.

Morgan throws her head back, laughing. "I'm not that bad."

She's also full of shit, but I let her get away with the lie. Mostly because she's pregnant, and Blaze would kick my ass if I made his pregnant wife cry.

Truth is, Morgan is hell on wheels, seven days a week. Life has been a lot more interesting around here since Blaze found her hiding out in one of our barns and decided the only solution to her problems was to marry her. She makes a shit cowgirl, but she's good people.

"Seriously, what are you doing? I thought poker night was canceled," she says, watching me as I reach for several cards that landed on the hardwood beneath the old table.

Well, shit…

"Uh, it was."

I'm a shit liar, and everyone knows it. But I also refuse to be the one who breaks the news that she's been unanimously voted off poker island. Fuck that. My mama taught me better than to make a pregnant woman cry.

Blaze can tell his wife that we voted her off the island. It was his idea, anyway. He said she's won enough of our money. Truthfully, I don't think he gives a damn about losing his money to her. He'd give her every dime he had without missing a beat. I think he just wants her all to himself because he's a selfish bastard like that.

"Wade Jessup." She stomps her foot. "Are you lying to me?"

"Who, me? Never."

"Liar." She laughs, and I know she isn't upset. Thank God. I've got one goal in life: never piss off a woman who knows where I sleep. Especially if her only friends are cowboys. "Am I being booted from poker night because I'm too pregnant to see my own feet?"

"Actually, no." I glance over my shoulder at her. "You were voted off the island because you never lose."

Her eyes crinkle at the corners, her gaze full of satisfaction. "So…you're all finally sick of giving away your money, huh?"

"Hell, yes," I chuckle. "You're ruthless, and we're poor." That's not entirely true. The Carringtons pay us damn well, and she knows it as well as I do. But I am not above playing the pity card here. It's bound to work out better than that nine of diamonds.

"Fine," she sighs dramatically as I haul myself upright. "I guess I won't hold it against you."

I exhale a tiny breath, glad her feelings aren't hurt. Everyone loves Morgan. We also love not losing our money to her. Since I'm pretty sure she was a cardshark in a former life, it's a delicate situation.

I place the cards facedown on the table before turning back to her, my arms crossed. "You should hold it against Blaze, though. It was his idea."

"Oh, I plan to," she says with a diabolical grin. "My motto is to always blame Blaze for everything."

"Good girl," I say, holding out my fist for her to bump. "That's my motto too."

She giggles, bumping my fist. "Hey. Remember the first time I beat you and Bishop?" she asks, this…gleam…in her eyes that has a bead of sweat rolling down my back. My stomach cramps, too.

"Remember it?" I ask, groaning. "I'd pay money to forget it. You swindled the shit out of us." Bishop and I had hangovers from hell the next day. Not Morgan. She drank us under the table and then went about her life like it was nothing. Honestly, I'm still convinced she cheated.

Failing to disclose that you basically used to drink professionally for tips is cheating, and I don't care what Blaze has to say about it. Bartending, my ass.

"You guys made the rules," she says with a careless shrug. "Not my fault you can't hang."

A laugh of protest rumbles from my lips. "No one can hang when you drink like a goddamn pirate, Morgan." I eye her sideways, suspicious as hell about that gleam. "Why are you bringing it up now?"
These professional athletes have more than fortune and fame in common. They also share a father who never played favorites, a mom who swears they're all her favorite, and a wild fanbase betting on who falls first.

But avoiding love when you've sworn it off should be easy...right?

Not for these siblings.

Someone really should have warned them that happily ever after waits for no player. When it hits, these siblings will make waves in the sporting world. That is, if they can keep their lives together long enough to make it down the aisle.

Sibling Goals is a spicy sports rom-com series featuring alpha heroes who have it all (maybe?) and curvy heroines who think they know exactly what they want (dresses with pockets, not love).

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Briggs

"You're late," my brother, Harlan, growls, appearing in the church doorway like some timekeeping demon, his face set in a dark scowl. "You were supposed to be here an hour ago."

"Take it up with Jesus and the traffic." I grin at him. "I got here as fast as I could. Any faster, and we'd be having a different conversation right now." I glance at the parking lot behind me, where friends' cars are scattered across the first couple of rows. "With a whole lot of Chicago's finest behind me, trying to take me down."

Harlan grumbles under his breath like he wants to argue, but my point is solid. There's only so much a motherfucker can do about traffic in Chicago on a Friday night without divine intervention. And if there is a God, I don't see him stepping in to part the seas to get me to my brother's rehearsal dinner. The world is a shitshow. He's got more important things to do.

"Come on. Everyone is waiting," Harlan says as I duck past him into a grand foyer. The tile floors gleam at my feet, the crucifixion hanging overhead reflecting off them. Benches and floral arrangements line each side of the foyer, with lines of scripture carved into the walls. It's ostentatious, but unsurprising for a church big enough to hold half of Chicago. The big ones are rarely known for subtlety.

A giant sign announcing Harlan and Sophie's wedding stands in the center of the antechamber, with one of their engagement photos above the date.

"You nervous?" I ask my brother, clocking the way he tugs on his suit jacket, trying to get it just right. He's already more put together than he's ever been, not a wrinkle or crease in sight.

"About marrying Sophie? Fu…I mean no," he says, casting a furtive glance around, like he's afraid Jesus is going to pop out of the flowers and strike him down for almost cursing. "I've been ready to marry her since Tye's wedding." He rakes a hand through his hair. "Worried about our mother showing up."

"Ah," I say, nodding. Once, she might have made the guest list simply to keep the peace. That changed almost two years ago, when we found out she was trying to force our baby sister, Hattie, to attend Tye's wedding with a man who doesn't even deserve to breathe the same air as her. Tye, Harlan, and I handled the situation with the help of Sidney Hawkes, Hattie's now-husband, and none of us have been on speaking terms with her since.

Frankly, I'd prefer to keep it that way. But our mother never goes quietly. She's done nothing but cause problems, especially once she found out that Hattie and Harlan were both getting married.

I'm the last motherfucker standing out of my siblings…and our mother hasn't been to a single wedding. No, she isn't taking it well. Not in the least.

That's on her.

"She won't show up," I promise Harlan. "I made sure of it."

"What?" He looks startled. "How?"

"We had a conversation."

"You had a conversation."

"Yeah, a conversation. I said some shit. She listened." I shrug like it's not a big deal, but we both know it is. I never willingly speak to her if I can help it, not after all the shit she's pulled. That doesn't really matter, though. What matters is that she isn't going to show her face at the wedding, not if she doesn't want the whole world to know what kind of mother she truly is.

The only thing that our mother loves more than money is being the center of the right attention. Trust me when I say she does not want the world to know half the shit she's said or done over the years. What little bit of standing she has left would crumble, and she'd really be alone then.

Harlan stares at me for a long moment, gratitude etched across his face. "Thanks, Briggs. I mean it."

"Don't mention it." If our roles were reversed, he'd do the same for me. But he's the one getting married, not me. And it's not like he even lives in Chicago to deal with her. Trying to plan a wedding from the other side of the country has been hard enough for him and Sophie. Someone had to deal with our mother for him. She can hate me for running interference if she wants. So long as she stays away from my sister and brothers, I don't fucking care.

I stopped caring about her a long time ago, right around the time I realized that she was a monster who hated her own daughter. She made our sister fucking miserable out of sheer spite and jealousy. And Hattie wasn't the only one. I never felt good enough because of her, because the only thing I've ever been to her is a bank account and a paycheck.
One look and he was hooked. One “no” and he was obsessed.

Hudson
I have the world at my feet.
Power and iron-clad authority are my birthrights, and “no” isn’t a word in my vocabulary. I’m used to people bowing to my name and melting under my gaze. I’ve always been the hunter, never the prey. Until I meet Tinsley Essen.
Stunning, sharp, and maddeningly indifferent, Tinsley doesn’t give a damn about my billions or my influence. She’s completely immune to my charm, meeting my commands with a bored yawn and my arrogance with a single arched brow.
For the first time in my life, I’ve met a force I can’t control. I was supposed to be the one doing the hooking, but one look at Tinsley and I’m the one caught. Now, I’ll do whatever it takes to break down her walls and prove that while she might not need me, I’m never letting her go.
I’m about to learn that the only thing more addictive than power is the one woman who refuses to give it to me.

Tinsley
I’ve spent my life building a world where I don’t have to answer to anyone—especially men like Hudson Carrington.
He’s used to the world parting like the Red Sea when he walks into a room. He expects a bow, a blush, or total surrender. But to me? He’s just another suit with too much ego and a look in his eyes that says he’s never been told “no” in his life.
It’s a word I’m finding more and more pleasure in using.
His billions don’t move me. His shadow doesn’t intimidate me. And his “legendary” charm? It’s nothing more than a polished weapon I have no intention of falling for. But Hudson isn’t just a man who wants his way, he’s a man who has decided I’m his next conquest.
He thinks he’s the one doing the hunting, but he’s about to find out I don’t play by anyone’s rules but my own. He can try to buy my time and command my attention, but my heart isn’t for sale.
The problem is, the harder I push him away, the closer he gets and I’m having a hard time fighting the pull between us.

In this fast-paced, steamy instalove romance, the powerful billionaire cowboy is about to learn that the only thing more addictive than power is a woman who tells him “no.”

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

CHAPTER ONE

HUDSON

When things go to shit, they really go to shit. My morning had it out for me long before I stepped foot outside my door. The technical failures began when my smart home system decided to skip the alarm, leaving me to wake up forty minutes behind schedule.

After rushing through the shower and dressing, I reach the kitchen, looking forward to some strong fucking coffee. The universe isn’t done dishing out hell though. The high-end espresso machine my sister gave me for Christmas decides to violently reject its latest pod, spraying dark roast across my chest with the accuracy of a marksman. “Fucking goddamn hell,” I mutter, grabbing a napkin. While I’m changing into another shirt, the Silver Spoon Falls skies open up with a vengeance. That’s when I remember that my garage remote bit the dust yesterday, and I parked my truck in the front circular drive. Fucking hell.

By the time I settle into the front seat, I’m soaking wet. The morning from hell just keeps fucking giving. The drive into town takes me twice as long as it usually does when I get stuck behind a goddamn cattle truck with nowhere to be. I’m not sure the day could get any worse. I park in the underground garage at the Montoya Investments building already fifteen minutes late for a meeting with Cash Montoya.

I shoot Cash a quick text, letting him know I’m on my way, and stalk past the reception desk, boots squeaking at every step. Fuck. I should’ve stayed in bed. A headache pounds away behind my eyes, and I’m running dangerously low on patience for any of the universe’s games.

"Stop right there, sir."

The voice isn't loud, but it’s got the structural integrity of a reinforced concrete wall. I freeze, my hand inches from the glass, and turn to look at the source. She’s sitting behind the curved marble desk looking at the puddle forming around my feet with an expression of profound, clinical boredom.

She’s a redhead with hair like copper spun into silk with too much heat, the kind that looks like it would almost burn your hand if you reached out to touch it. Her eyes are striking. They’re sharp and that shade of clear aqua you see in photos of tropical oceans, only so bright and intense up close.

My heart pounds away as my cock turns to steel in my pants. Fuck. She’s curvy with beautiful, lush lines that her crisp, professional outfit is definitely struggling to contain. Her jawline is so firm and decisive, and when her eyes meet mine, it’s with a gaze that could stop a man in his tracks.

"Hudson Carrington. I have an appointment with Cash Montoya," I say, waiting for her to wave me through.

"Hold on, Mr. Carrington," she says, finally meeting my gaze. She doesn't reach for the phone. She doesn't even move her hands from where they’re resting on the desk, fingers poised over a keyboard like she’s waiting for me to finish being a nuisance so she can get back to something actually important. "And I’ll check you in."

“I usually just go straight up,” I mutter, my brain struggling to fire as I stare at the most perfect woman I’ve ever laid eyes on. I catch a whiff of her citrusy perfume and nearly groan out loud. My eyes trail down her luscious body. The way her silk blouse clings to the swell of her breasts causes her tits to strain against the fabric in a way that makes my mouth go dry. I want to know if her skin’s as soft as it looks. What the fuck is happening to me? I notice her name badge. “Tinsley.” Even her goddamn name is beautiful. Motherfucker. I’m sounding just like my dumbass, pussy-whipped brother.

“Well, today, you’re going to wait while I check you in.” She smiles at me as shock flows through me. I stand there like a fucking bump on a log and watch while she types something on the keyboard. My entire world is spinning off its axis while she looks completely fucking unfazed by meeting me. Then she looks up and meets my eyes, and the air between us feels like it’s been charged with high-voltage electricity.

She smiles at me and points toward the elevator. "Mr. Montoya’s office is on the nineteenth floor. They’re ready for you."

“Thank you,” I mutter, standing there for a beat too long, watching her return her attention to her monitor like she’s already forgotten I exist. It’s both goddamn infuriating and the most exciting thing that’s happened to me in years. I turn away, my boots still squeaking, but my mind isn't on the meeting anymore. It’s on the curvy little firecracker who just gave me the shock of my life.

"Hudson? You with us?" Cash asks, tapping a rhythmic beat on the tabletop. He’s looking at me with a mix of amusement and concern, probably because I haven't looked at the projections he’s been discussing for the last ten minutes.
Bring an author to work day just got spicy!

Coming Soon!

Good girls need spicy books. At least, that's the philosophy at this small-town bookstore. But the group of bookish friends who call the store home never planned for the feral men willing to fall at their feet...or for the lengths they'd go to secure their own happily-ever-afters.

Now, they're up to their elbows, in over their heads, and the only experience they have with navigating love comes from the books they read.

What could possibly go wrong?

Book of Love is a small-town rom-com series set in Wine Country that's high on heat and laughter, and low on drama

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Jasmine

The public library is the literal worst place to stalk an author. First, it's public. Says so right there in the name. Second, it's full of distractions…like virtually every book on the shelves, except for the one about keeping only a few books in your home. Honestly, fuck that book. Third, it's too quiet.

I'm only an hour into my quest to convince River Jamison to speak at Dirty Book Club, and I'm already bored. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be a problem—see item two on the list. But since I can't actually read and actively stalk at the same time, you see the problem. I'm bored.

Loralei Grey, the librarian and my friend, knows it. She keeps grinning at me from behind the chest-high counter as if she expects me to snap at any moment.

"You could help me, you know," I remind her for the fifth time, my elbows planted on the marble counter as I glare at her over the top. The stack of books beside her is almost as tall as she is, but she just keeps adding to it, humming some rock song to herself.

The musty smell of thousands of books lingers in the air around us. Behind me, a group of school kids types away at the public computers, whispering back and forth. Their teacher flips aimlessly through a magazine at a work table beside the computer station, one careful eye on the kids.

"Nope." Loralei's smile grows as she checks in another book before neatly placing it on her stack to be shelved later. I swear, she's been weird lately. Something's up with her. "I'm not risking my job by giving you River's home address."

I knew she was going to say that.

I've been trying to convince her for the last ten days straight, but she's been woefully unhelpful. I get it, really, I do. She loves her job, and it's not like I want her to lose it or anything. I'd feel awful about that. But her work computer has the information I need to do my job. And she won't even walk away and leave me alone with it for two minutes.

It's not like I'm going to murder him in his sleep or anything. I just want to help connect him with local readers. If it weren't for that, believe me, I wouldn't be here. I do not need to meet my heroes. Ever, actually.

"What's he like?" I can't help but ask Loralei. She hasn't been particularly forthcoming about what she knows about the man. All she's really said thus far is that he reads a lot, doesn't say much, and is tall. How any of that is supposed to help me entice him into speaking at Dirty Book Club, I don't know.

"Well, he's—" she breaks off and then nods toward the massive double doors. "See for yourself."

I whip around, my gaze landing on a man standing on the raised dais just inside the library's entrance.

Sweet baby Jesus…

I expected an over-caffeinated, middle-aged man who looked like a cross between a college professor and an anxious introvert. That's the picture I painted in my head.

I was wrong.

River Jamison is the physical embodiment of my dirtiest fantasies. Messy black hair sweeps across his forehead, ending just above startling green eyes and a pair of wire-rimmed glasses. His beard doesn't hide his full lips, which are currently pursed like he's annoyed with the world. The way he's got his arms crossed over his broad chest screams "standoffish".

He's younger than I expected, closer to thirty-five or forty than the fifty or sixty that I believed. He's also got the body of someone who spends a lot of time at the gym rather than behind a desk all day.

This is a problem. Actually, everything about him is a problem. Hot and grumpy is my weakness, and I am not a size twenty-two with a litany of failed business ideas and a sheaf of speeding tickets in my past because I have self-control, okay?

Maybe asking him to speak at Book Club is a bad idea.

"That's River Jamison?" I whisper. At least, I mean to whisper, but the library has vaulted ceilings and an echo…and I say it far louder than intended.

He hears me and immediately glances my way. His gaze rolls over me like a wave, his expression darkening slightly before turning downright arctic, as if my very existence is an annoyance he could live without.

Rude.

I square my shoulders and scowl right back at him. Probably not a great way to convince him to do what I want, but he started it.

For some reason, scowling at him seems to amuse him. He actually cracks a smile and nods at me before he jogs down the steps into the main library, then makes a beeline down the center aisle before disappearing between two stacks, like he's on a mission.
Her fortune wasn't supposed to be her fate.

Emelia
Drunkenly folding my way into a future with the hottest goalie in the league wasn't how I intended to spend Saturday night, but here we are.

Clearly, my besties should not be in charge of Girl's Night activities.

One cootie catcher later, and Royce Elliot is determined to make this wild prediction a reality.

I'm absolutely not interested. Until I am.

He's supposed to be my client, not the man I can't resist.

But with every touch and every kiss, this feels less like a game…
and more like forever.

Royce
I know hockey, not how to win over a stubborn, fiercely independent publicist.

But the second I meet Emelia Jónsson, I stop caring about shutouts.
I care about her.

She says her fortune teller doesn't mean anything—that it's just a childish game.
I say fate handed me an opening, and I'm not going to miss my shot.

I didn't expect her to ignite the way she does for me.
And I never imagined I’d fall this hard, this fast.

She swears this can't happen.
She's wrong.

I'm not backing down until she admits the truth.
We were never just a game.
The two of us were fate

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Emelia

One Drunken Night…

"My life is over," Ava groans, tipping her wine glass back until the last little drop lands on her lips. Her blue eyes are glossy and dilated, her cheeks flushed. She's wasted.

"It's not over," Seraphina promises, upending the bottle of wine over the coffee table. "Having Dawson as your stepbrother isn't the end of the world." She shakes the bottle, scowling at it. "This is. Where did the—?"

"We drank it," Nova chirps.

"Dammit." Seraphina shakes the bottle like it's a Magic 8 Ball, refusing to give up the goods.

Okay, so maybe Ava isn't the only one trashed in my living room. We're three bottles deep, hurtling toward bad decisions and early morning regret. I can work with that. I'd rather be wine drunk with my besties than overthinking in my bed. Again.

New clients give me stress. So why did I just agree to represent Royce Elliot, the world's hottest goalie? Oh, right. Because I have no self-control and a bank account that could use a boost since my favorite client, Teo Kirby, retired.

"Here." Nova thrusts a fresh bottle into Seraphina's hands, earning a drunken grin, before she turns to Ava. "She's right, though, Ava. It's not so bad. Try living with Satan's sister. That's bad."

"You need to move," I tell Nova, who shoots me a glare. It's an old argument. Her roommate is evil, but she stubbornly refuses to move out and let the woman win their cold war.

"Yes, it is!" Ava cries, flopping backward on my sofa. "He hates me. I'm destined to spend every holiday for the rest of my life across the table from a man who despises me." She plucks a throw pillow from the couch, burying her face in it with a loud groan.

"I doubt he hates you," I murmur, tugging the pillow away. "He's just…Dawson."

Dawson Iverson, who plays football for the Sabres, is hot as Hades…and grumpy as sin. I'm also 90% sure he's obsessed with Ava. She refuses to believe it, though. She's convinced he loses his mind whenever she comes around because he hates her. Believe me, hate doesn't look like it wants to bend you over the table in front of your parents.

She narrows her eyes at me, fuming. "He calls me half-pint."

My lips twitch.

"I'm twenty-six!"

She's also five-nothing with the face of an angel.

"At least he's hot," Seraphina says, sloshing wine across the table.

"He's my stepbrother," Ava growls.

"So?" Seraphina tries—and fails—to waggle her brows. "It's not like that's a lifelong thing. It just happened. And I've seen what you read, bish. You'd be into it."

"Someone take her wine away."

Seraphina gasps, cradling the bottle to her chest like it's a baby. "No way. I earned this. My boss is the devil."

"A hot devil," Nova mutters, earning a giggle from Ava.

"So hot," Seraphina agrees miserably. "Too bad he's a total nightmare. I'd rather smother him than sleep with him."

"Maybe that's our problem," I mutter, glancing around at my closest friends.

"We don't commit enough murders?" Nova asks.

"No." I pause as the faces of a few of my clients drift through my mind. Whoever said dealing with professional athletes all day would be a lucrative walk in the park lied. They're all pains in my ass. I should have listened to my mom when she tried to talk me out of following in her footsteps. "Well, maybe."

Nova holds her hand out for a high-five. She's always been a savage. It's part of what I love most about her. She's loud and bright and never backs down from anything. Ava is a shy little bookworm with stars in her eyes most of the time. And Seraphina? Well, Seraphina spends most of her time trying to wrangle the one coach on the planet who takes pleasure in making her job impossible. She has the patience of a saint, enough love for ten women, and a burning hatred for her boss.

"We need more hot men in our lives," I explain when they all look at me expectantly.

"Says the woman surrounded by hot men all day, every day." Nova laughs, tucking strands of hair behind her ears. "I think you need fewer hot men in your life, Emelia."

She's not actually wrong, but that's beside the point.

"Datable hot men," I clarify.

"Uh…" Seraphina stares at me with wide eyes. "Pretty sure you have a roster of datable hot men."

"Absolutely not." I shudder at the thought. Dating an athlete? There are things I'm desperate enough to do, and things you couldn't pay me enough to do. There isn't enough money in the world to get me on a date with one of my clients. Never going to happen.

"Oh! I know!" Ava cries, scrambling for the Mary Poppins bag she swears is a purse. It's not. If she ever gets lost in the forest, she's going to survive on the contents of that thing for the next six decades. Minimum.

Prologue

Sophie

Four Months Ago

I'm not nearly drunk enough to be at this party. Unfortunately, I'm also not allowed to drink enough to get to that point. Perks of being a professional ballerina. You attend a lot of parties…but you never really get to enjoy them, either.

I sigh, sticking to the edges of the room as laughter floats around me. I don't know most of the people here. This is Sidney and Austin's world, not mine. My brothers are professional football players, and their teammates and hockey friends are everywhere.

I'm the only dancer in the mix.

Sidney is lucky I love him and his fiancée, Hattie.

I could be at home right now, in my pajamas, but I'm here for them instead.

"Son of a bitch. How long do engagement parties last?" a giant to my left growls.

I laugh despite myself, turning to face him. My eyes widen when they land on his face. I recognize him instantly. Harlan Ward is one of Hattie's older brothers. He's also captain of the Knights, the professional hockey team in Los Angeles.

And like me, he looks like this is the last place he wants to be.

"Forever, apparently," I mutter to him.

He grunts, his blue eyes scanning across my face. He doesn't really make a secret of the fact that he's studying me, so I watch him, too.

He's an interesting kind of gorgeous—too big and gruff to be beautiful, but too damn beautiful to be called anything else. His dark hair is a chaotic mess, almost like he tried to tame it, then said screw it and messed it all up again. I'm not sure if the suit was made for his broad shoulders or if his shoulders were made for the suit, but he is wearing the damn thing.

I have entire costumes designed specifically for me, and I've never looked that good in any of them. Maybe our ballet company needs to hire his tailor. Jesus.

His denim-colored eyes keep flicking back to my mouth, like he's waiting for me to say something.

I don't think "I'd like to wear you like a suit" is an acceptable option here. It's giving serial killer, not accomplished flirt.

God. I'm bad at this.

I can flirt like it's my job when I need to do it. I'm even pretty great at it when I'm flirting just because I want to see Austin or Sidney's eyes twitch. But apparently, as soon as I actually want to do it, I've got nothing. Awesome.

Instead, I stare at Harlan like a deer in the headlights. And then, blessedly, I notice Sidney from the corner of my eye. He's hovering over Hattie like he's two seconds from snatching her up and hauling her out of here over his shoulder, caveman style.

"How long do you think it'll be before they're fucking in a closet?" I blurt.

Harlan's eyes widen, one brow arching toward his hairline. "What?"

"Sidney and your…" Ah, crap. Reminding him that my brother is fucking his baby sister probably isn't the stellar opening I was going for here. Literally no one wants to think about my brother naked.

I walked in on him in the bathroom once. His ass is so pale, it rivals a polar ice cap. I'm still in therapy, trying to forget the image.

I seriously need more wine if I'm going to make it through this night.

"Never mind," I mutter, shaking my head. "Forget I said anything." I take a step back, preparing to make a graceful exit…or a hasty retreat. Same difference.

"Ten minutes," Harlan growls.

"What?"

"I give it ten minutes." He shoves a hand through his hair, his eyes narrowing on my brother like he isn't thrilled by the thought…but also like he kind of hopes he isn't wrong. Damn. I guess he really wants to get out of here. "They'll be MIA in ten minutes."

I hesitate for a minute and then grin at him before peeking at my phone to check the time. "You don't know Sidney very well if you think he'll last that long, Harlan. He basically hates everyone in this room right now because they're paying attention to Hattie."

It's not that Sidney's jealous. Hattie idolizes my brother, and he knows it. It's that he knows Hattie hates being the center of attention. And the only thing Sidney hates more than losing is literally anything that upsets Hattie. It's disgustingly adorable how much he loves her.

I absolutely do not want the same thing for myself.

I might also be a dirty liar.

But my fans are already losing their minds, hoping I fall next. Since both of my brothers have, it's like they smell blood in the water. I'm doing everything I can to not contribute to the lunacy. I have a career to focus on. Love isn't on the menu

"You know my name." Harlan's staring at me again, his denim eyes boring into me like he's trying to figure me out.

In Silver Spoon Falls, love has a way of working itself out in unexpected ways. But nothing could prepare these rough cowboys for the wild, curvy women coming their way.

To tame their hearts and find forever, they'll fight harder than they ever have. Luckily, the sweat in their veins, the dirt on their boots, and the grit in their bones has taught them everything they need to know to go toe-to-toe with fate and come out unconquered

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Morgan

I've always considered myself a normal person, but nothing makes you question your own life choices faster than waking up with your hair full of hay and a horse nipping your butt while a donkey watches. Again.

I don't think this is what my foster brothers meant when they were talking about donkey shows that time. But I'm guessing it's pretty close.

"Shoo," I hiss, desperately trying to roll away from the horse.

He makes this noise that sounds like he's huffing at me and inches forward in the stall, far too curious for my good.

I don't even like horses.

"Please, go away," I whisper, cowering in the corner like that's going to save me from the indignity of my life. Spoiler Alert: It probably isn't. Not since I just spent a second night rooming with a giant horse in a barn I don't own on a ranch I also don't own, somewhere on the outskirts of Silver Spoon Falls.

This is what my life has become.

It happens when you've been kicked out and accused of a felony.

For the record, I'm innocent. Also, for the record, my boss knew that when he accused me of stealing over thirty thousand dollars' worth of jewelry from his safe. It's an insurance scheme.

I guess I'm the casualty.

Well, that was Roger Burkett's plan until I bolted. His new live-in maid—me—was supposed to take the fall while he pocketed the payout.

Bunking with a pushy horse with no concept of personal space seemed better than jail.

After waking up like this two mornings in a row, I'm beginning to rethink my choice.

"Please," I groan, not above negotiating with the animal. At this point, I'm willing to beg if he leaves me alone long enough for me to sneak out of here before I get caught. Or eaten.

Do horses eat people?

Knowing my luck, this one probably does.

The horse nudges my thigh with his head, stubbornly refusing to give me even a moment of peace.

I sigh heavily and reach out, tentatively scratching between his ears. He chuffs, stomping one foot.

I startle slightly, but he headbutts me gently and stomps again.

"Oh." I smile despite myself. "I guess that means you like it, huh?"

He chuffs again.

"Sorry I made a bed out of your hay again," I whisper to him. "It was an emergency situation." I gather some of the straw up in my free hand, holding it out to him like an offering. "It's mostly still fresh."

He sniffs at it and then, blessedly, decides the salt lick on the far side of the stall is more appetizing.

I wait until he's thoroughly occupied and then make a run for it. There's no way to open the stall from this side, so I hoist myself up onto the side of his trough and scramble up.

I'm lying across the stall door like it's a surfboard when the donkey decides to criticize my technique.

"Hee-haw!"

"Jesus!" I yelp, tumbling face-first toward the ground.

I land in the dirt with a thud, the wind knocked out of me.

"What the fuck?"

Heavy steps rush toward me, thudding against the dirt. I feel every single one in my soul, turning it to ice. Even after spending the last two nights freezing in a stall, I'm going to jail. I'll never be able to prove my innocence. I'll never get to finish college. I'll never—

Rough hands close around my waist, hauling me upright.

"I promise I won't sleep on your property anymore," I cry, my voice breathless. "Please don't send me to prison."

Calloused fingers curve around my jaw, tilting my head back. I look straight into the strangest, most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen. They're dark around the pupils, but faded denim around the edges.

The rest of him is pretty damn beautiful, too. Not the way models are beautiful, but the way storms are—like they might break you if you aren't careful. His face is a study in contradiction, soft around the eyes, but hard everywhere else. Brown hair falls around his broad shoulders, giving him a wild edge, like a Viking…except not. There's something about him that just screams cowboy, like he was born to wrangle cattle and fight dirty, not pillage and conquer his way across the world.

He's staring at me like he's furious and shocked at the same time, his eyes roving back and forth across my face in a way that saps the moisture from my mouth.

"You slept here last night," he finally says—growls, really, in a voice like thunder.

"I…I…" I could lie, but I think it's already too late for that. I basically confessed before he even asked a single question. "Yes," I whisper miserably. "And the night before. But if you'll let me go, I promise I won't come back."

"You've been out here for two days?"

"Well…no. Just at night."

My answer doesn't seem to make him any happier. If anything, it makes him look even more pissed than he was to begin with.
He slid into her inbox. She fell in front of the world.

Kingston
As a professional hockey player, I'm used to getting fan mail.
I never send it.

Until Evie Alexander sings the national anthem at our game.
She has the voice of an angel, the eyes of a siren, and a mouth I can't stop thinking about.

The whole arena watched me make a fool of myself trying to meet her.
They also watched her walk away like I didn't exist.

She thinks I just want her in my bed.
She's wrong.

I want her in my bed and wearing my ring.

If writing my way into her life is what it takes? I'm all in.
I don't quit…and I definitely don't lose.

Evie
As a musician, fan mail comes with the job.
But nothing prepared me for this.

Kingston Monroe's letters are charming and dangerously sincere, not at all what I expected from the cocky hockey star who embarrassed me at his game.

I promised myself I wouldn't fall for him.
Then he shows up at my concert…and I fall anyway.
Hard enough that the whole world hears it.

Now I have to decide if the sweet, shameless man in my inbox is real… or if I'm just another game he's determined to win.

About the Series
Falling in love wasn't part of the plan for these feisty heroines, especially not via letter, text, and email. But when they find themselves in a war of words with four delicious alphas, their plans go awry in unexpected ways.

These over-the-top men are determined to write their way to happily-ever-after, and they aren't taking any prisoners along the way. But when things move off the page to reality, not even they are prepared for the sparks that fly and the chaos that ensues.

Letters in Love is a spicy rom-com series featuring a bossy hockey star, a gorgeous mafia boss, a growly cowboy, and a protective mountain man

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Evie

"You know you're going to die on the ice, right? Just bam!" My sister smacks her hands together hard enough for the sound to echo around the small conference room we're using as a staging area. "Down you go."

Her diabolical grin should be studied in a lab. There's no way it's natural.

"Gee, thanks," I mutter sarcastically. "Why'd I bring you again?"

"Bring me? Please!" She crosses her arms, sinking down onto a plush chair at the head of the long table. "As if I gave you a choice."

She's not lying. As soon as Everly found out I was singing the national anthem at the game, she insisted on coming for "moral support".

Her support leaves a lot to be desired…you know, like actual support. She's just here to watch sweaty professional hockey players fight each other for the puck. But there was no way she was telling our father that.

Are you kidding? He just got out of the hospital and would have insisted on coming along, too. Kasen Alexander goes nowhere without causing a scene. After thirty-five years in the entertainment industry, that ability is encoded in his DNA. Actually…I think it's just who he is.

Everly is just like him—loud, dramatic, and destined to be the problem in any given scenario. Don't ask me how I ended up being the normal one in this family. It's a mystery to me, too.

"I'm not going to die on the ice."

I'll probably die on the ice. But I'll also die before I admit that to my sister. Singing, I can do. Hell, I can even dance with something resembling actual rhythm. But walking across a slippery surface? Yeah, not so much.

"We'll see," Everly says, her blue eyes shining.

I just ignore her and finish pulling my hair up into a high pony, studying myself in the mirror set up on the table. My nerves don't show on my face, thank God. The flush to my cheeks looks more like excitement than anxiety, and my blue eyes are calm. I look cool and collected, not at all like I'm ready to throw up.

I am so ready to throw up.

Singing on stage is easy. I have a band to back me up and room to move around. I can riff and cover little mistakes. There is no covering it if you fuck up the national anthem at a televised sporting event. You'll always be that one artist who screwed up the words or couldn't hit the right notes. No one wants to be immortalized in clips of a failed national anthem performance.

Someone taps on the door.

"She's decent!" Everly shouts.

I shake my head at her, which only makes her grin. There is no stopping her. It's terrifying, really.

"Ms. Alexander?" A man with a clipboard pokes his head into the conference room.

"Evie," I correct.

"Right," he says, not even looking up at me. "A few members of the team have asked to meet you before the game."

"They want to meet me?" I frown, caught off guard. This wasn't part of the plan. I'm just supposed to sing the anthem, not meet and greet people far more talented than I am!

He was supposed to be her cover story, not her future.

Sidney
I fell for Hattie Ward the second she chose a book over the game.

Who does that?
The wild girl who marches to the beat of her own drum, that's who.

But I never thought I'd have a shot with her.
Until she begs me to date her.

She thinks I'm grumpy.
She thinks I'm not her type.
She thinks this is pretend.

She's wrong.

There's nothing fake about the way she makes me feel.
And there is no one else who will worship her like I do.

She's done hiding in the shadows.
And I'm more than ready to show her exactly how bright she burns.
Even if I have to turn her world upside down.

Hattie
Propositioning my brother's teammate was the perfect plan.
One date with Sidney Hawkes, and I'd be free from my mother's schemes.

He's hot, standoffish, and not my type...the perfect fake wedding date.

Until everything changes.

One kiss, one confession, and my plans go awry.
Now, I'm his in a way I never saw coming.
And he doesn't just want to date me.
He wants to keep me.

But stepping into his world means risking everything.
I'm terrified I'm going to fall flat on my face and drag him down with me.

Falling for him is either the bravest thing I've ever done… or the dumbest.
And it's far too late to back out now

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

Hattie

"This is stupid," I whisper, staring at my brother's teammate like he might bite. Frankly, he might. Sidney Hawkes is what happens if you cross a giant with a raging bull. He's cranky as hell, bigger than a mountain, and looks like he makes little kids cry just for fun.

In short, he's terrifying.

He's also going to save my life.

He doesn't know that part yet.

I'm still trying to figure out how to break the news to him…preferably without him deciding to break me.

I take another giant gulp of whatever my brother, Tye, poured in my cup, trying not to choke on it. Whatever it is, it's strong. My head is already swimming. That's the only excuse I have for why I'm still staring at Sidney.

He isn't looking at me. No one at my brother's parties ever looks at me. I'm basically a Ficus in the corner, only with boobs and a designer dress. Unlike everyone else at the party, being ignored by Sidney doesn't feel personal. He's giving everyone the same treatment.

I think he hates us all equally.

"You can do this," I mumble.

"Did you say something?" a gorgeous WAG beside me asks, blinking like she only just noticed me. Her brows pull together in a look that's all too familiar. It screams that I do not belong here.

She isn't wrong. Tye's mansion is packed with important people. Everyone who is anyone in the Chicago sports world is here right now. And then there's me, included by default because all my brothers are famous athletes. Fans actually call them the Holy Trinity.

Gag me with a freaking spoon. Seriously. Please, gag me. They aren't that cool, not when I grew up in the same house as their smelly gym socks.

The rest of the world does not agree. But the rest of the world is not me. I'd rather be in my pajamas, reading or talking to my fish than partying with my oldest brother's friends. My mother would literally kill me, though. Tye is getting married, and I'm in the bridal party. I have to be here.

Apparently, all wedding-related festivities are mandatory, even the annoying ones like parties. I did not know that when Vanessa asked me to be a bridesmaid. I thought I just had to show up, help her get ready, walk down the aisle without falling, eat cake, and then go home.

Yeah, no.

I'm never doing this again.

"You're Tye's sister or something, right?" the WAG asks, still staring at me like she tasted something sour.

"That's me."

"That's wild," she says, eyeing me up and down. "Your brother is hot. You look nothing alike."

"I was adopted." It's only a tiny lie. I wasn't adopted, but my brothers are all annoyingly beautiful people like my mom. I'm…well, me. I look like my dad, who died when I was nine. Except God didn't give me his height or talent. Instead, he gave me social anxiety, no filter, and frizzy hair.

Tye, Briggs, and Harlan never treat me any differently, no matter how awkward I make things, but the same cannot be said for my mother or the rest of the world. As far as they're concerned, I crash-landed on this planet and should be sold to science.

"Ah, that explains it," the WAG says, not even realizing—or caring—how offensive she's being. They never do. In this world, when you aren't an important person, your feelings don't matter.

"Well, I'd love to stay and be insulted a little more," I chirp, wriggling my way to my feet. I stumble in my heels before I manage to catch myself. "But I have a grump to proposition."

"You—what?"

"Bye, Felicia."

"Felicia? That's not my name," the WAG mutters, her tone confused.

"Really? Weird." I wobble dangerously on my way across the room, my eyes locked on Sidney. He's still standing in the corner, glaring like he'd rather burn the place down than pretend to have a good time.

Huh. Maybe I can convince him to torch it. That'd get me out of here. It's not like Tye is ever home, so I doubt he'd miss his stuff if it all burned.

My mother catches my gaze from across the room, giving me one of those patented looks. You know, the ones that promise murder and a lifetime of regret if you aren't on your best behavior? Funny how my brothers never get those looks, when they're usually the ones all over the news for one reason or another.

I'm an angel.

I step up beside Sidney, waiting for him to notice me.

He doesn't.

He's staring into his beer like it holds the answers to the universe. I step closer, intending to clear my throat.

Instead, I catch a whiff of whatever magical cologne he's wearing. Jesus. He smells edible. He's also a lot bigger than I ever seem to remember, which is probably because I make a point to not be where he is. The man scares me. I mean, I don't think he'd actually break me in half or anything if I tried to strike up a conversation, but why risk it?
