Staring into Larissa’s eyes, he saw that even she was shocked. Her eyes were wide, and she pressed her now-swollen lips together.
“Sorry,” she said.
Before he had a chance to even say anything, she rushed off, back to the bar, and then he saw something he didn’t think he would ever see. Larissa had knocked back a shot. Larissa never drank.
Approaching the bar, he saw the smirk on Carlos’s face, as well as Kinky’s.
“Shut the fuck up,” Big Dick said.
“Just so you know, that was a dare,” Carlos said.
“What?”
“Raven just told me Larissa insisted on taking a dare, rather than a truth, and my lovely wife told her to kiss the first man that walked into the bar.”
“What kind of fucked-up shit is that?” Big Dick asked. He had a feeling he knew why Larissa wouldn’t take a truth. Just like he had seen Andrew across the bar, watching Larissa.
He’d been there that morning. He heard Andrew making his declarations, suggesting they officially start dating as boyfriend and girlfriend, and he thought it was hilarious, listening to the little prick. Then the bullets started. All Big Dick had done was protect Larissa, while Little Pussy Boy ran away. He didn’t have time to stop him or get him to take Larissa to the hospital. He’d known what the piece of shit was going to do, and it was a real shame, as he did like Andrew once. For some reason, he had started to hate the little shit when he started hanging around Larissa. And that had only gotten worse as he watched him run away. What coward ran away, especially when your girl was down? Big Dick had never had a girl, but he did know he would never let his sister go without a fight.
Every time he had seen that piece of shit at the hospital, he had to hold onto his restraint so he didn’t just beat the shit out of the fucker.
“Well, you tell us, because it looked like you were into that kiss,” Carlos said.
He glared at them, and then looked over to see Larissa talking with Hailey. Big Dick looked to see that Kinky was already watching Hailey.
“Dude, there are plenty of other fish in the sea,” Big Dick said.
“Don’t,” Kinky said. “What’s done is done.”
“You could just go and apologize.”
“Tried that. She doesn’t want anything to do with me, and I can’t say I blame her. I wasn’t exactly forthcoming about who I am, or why I had to do what I did.”
“Dude, you were gathering intel, of course you weren’t going to be exactly forthcoming.” He shook his head.
He didn’t get it. Sure, mistakes were made, but apologizing should surely make up for that shit. He knew Hunter had to work to win back his sister, and he didn’t have a problem with that.
The bartender passed him a beer, and he gave him some money and looked around the bar for pussy. Any pussy. Only, his gaze kept being drawn to Larissa. First, she was talking to Harlow. He tried to avoid looking at his sister. Then, she was on the dance floor with Raven. Once Carlos went to grab his wife, she was dancing with Ava, but that didn’t last long, as Smokey went to his wife. Abriana was already in the arms of Ugly Beast, and Hailey was dancing with someone else.
Big Dick spotted Andrew advancing toward the dance floor, and even as he knew it wasn’t any of his fucking business, he was closer. He reached for her and pulled her into his arms. Larissa didn’t struggle.
“Well, hello there, kissing lady,” he said.
“That was a dare,” she said.
“Oh, I know, I just didn’t peg you as being the dare kind of girl. Someone tells you to get on your knees and suck cock, would you do it?”
She wrinkled her nose. “Don’t be so disgusting.”
She went to pull out of his hold.
“If you stop dancing with me, Andrew is waiting in the wings to talk to you, or to dance with you.” He leaned in close, because he just couldn’t help himself. “Or maybe he will run away again.”
“That’s not funny,” she said, pulling away.
“But it is the truth. Your call. You want to deal with him?”
He did expect her to pull away. Larissa always had a reason for people behaving the way they did. She always forgave, at least that was what he knew.
Only, she didn’t pull away. She stayed in his arms, even as the music changed to a slow number. He looked across the dance floor, and sure enough, Carlos gave him a thumbs-up. The fucker had requested a slow number. Just his fucking luck.
Big Dick didn’t do things slow with women. It was always hard and rough. He was never nice. Being nice to women gave them false hope, and he wasn’t in the market of making any woman think he loved her.
