When her tongue darts out to moisten her lips, my attention drops to the movement and the last of my resistance crumbles as my mouth crashes into hers.

Chapter Nineteen

Elle

Oh.

My.

God.

Is this really happening?

It feels more like a delicious dream than reality playing out. Any moment, the alarm on my phone will go off and I’ll wake up all hot and bothered. I don’t think I could stand for that to happen.

Not now.

Not when it’s been weeks since I felt the firm pressure of his mouth roving over mine.

All it takes is one sweep of his tongue for me to open and he’s swallowing me whole. At least, that’s the way it feels. One hungry gulp and I’m completely consumed. His mouth moves furiously over mine as our tongues tangle. It doesn’t take long for his breathing to turn labored. As if he’s not only fighting me, but himself as well.

I’ve known Carson for a decade, and other than Saturday night at the Sig Ep party, I’ve never witnessed him lose control or his temper. This is now the second time it’s happened. The abrupt change in his behavior should scare me. Strangely enough, it doesn’t. At the core of it, I know exactly who he is.

No matter what happens between us, that will never change.

There’s a scrape of teeth as he licks and nips at me until I’m dizzy with the sensation. Our bodies are pressed so tightly together that I don’t know where he ends and I begin. With every shift of his hips, he drives his thick erection into my belly. Excitement spirals through me as a deep ache grows in my core.

The kind of desire unfolding inside me is new. Before this very moment, I had no idea that it even existed. Now that I do, I can’t imagine never feeling my blood boil or my heart race the way it is now. The need to explore him explodes through me and I break the hold he has on my wrists, slipping my hands between our bodies until they’re flattened against his chest. My fingers curl, digging into the solid slab of muscle that lies beneath the soft cotton of his T-shirt.

I’ve been kissed a handful of times over the years, but none have been to this level. They’ve been more tentative. There has never been this kind of intoxicating concoction of anticipation and excitement pumping wildly through my being, making every nerve ending crackle with electricity.

Before I can fully sink into the embrace, his arms band around my ribcage and he swings me around, walking me backward until my calves hit the bedframe and I’m falling onto the thin twin bed. Barely do I catch my breath before he’s following me down. He maneuvers our bodies until we’re stretched out fully on the mattress before his full weight settles on top of me. The thickness of his erection presses against the juncture between my thighs and it’s so tempting to spread my legs wide so he can nestle more intimately against my core. His warm breath feathers against my lips as his gaze searches mine. I still, afraid that he’ll pull away and put a halt to what’s unfolding between us the same way he did at the party. If that happened, I’d probably break down and cry. There is too much pent-up arousal ricocheting through my body.

Instead, he lowers his face, slanting his mouth one way before angling it the other, peppering me with a thousand tiny kisses.

“You taste so fucking sweet,” he mutters, drifting lower. He nips at the curve of my jaw before sliding down the column of my neck. “Even better than last time.”

I whimper in response, unable to string together a few passable syllables. I’m so dizzy with the sensation that grasping on to a single coherent thought has become an impossibility. When I bear my throat, he sucks the fragile flesh into his mouth before biting down on it. A tidal wave of pleasure crashes over me, threatening to drag me to the very bottom of the ocean.

Just when I’m about to spin completely out of control, he pumps the breaks and slows things down. His movements turn almost lazy as he continues his descent before arriving at my collarbone. The velvety softness of his tongue sweeps over the skin left uncovered by the fabric of my shirt. There’s a pause as he arrives at the first button. Air gets wedged in my lungs as the sound of his harsh breathing breaks the silence of the room and fills my ears until it’s all I’m aware of and the world shrinks to encompass just the two of us.

“This is so damn wrong,” he groans.

I don’t understand how he can say that when nothing in my life has ever felt so right.

Half-afraid that I’ll burst this strange bubble we find ourselves in, I remain silent.
