Tears blurring my eyes, I nod. “Yes,” I say in a soft voice. “Yes, Bruce, I would love to become Mrs. Bruce Crown.”
With that, my fiancé’s blue eyes flash possessively as he slides the engagement ring onto my finger. Again, I’m hit again with the feeling that this can’t possibly be real. I must be in a blissful dream and I’ll wake up at any moment, but in fact, it’s not a fantasy. My handsome fiancé gets to his feet, picking me up and twirling me joyfully around before planting a kiss on my lips, as tender and passionate as can be. No, I think. There’s no mistaking it. Meanwhile, Riley is whooping and cheering, jumping up and down on the spot, and even baby Ronnie has started clapping his little hands, although he’s not sure what we’re celebrating. When Bruce and I finally draw apart, I can’t resist, pulling my sons to either side of me and hugging them close while basking in the happiness that is my family.
