“We’re coming. Hold your damn horses, impatient thing.” I’m already around the truck, not heading towards them until I have Selena besides me.

“Take all the time you need. We’re not going anywhere, honey.” Mom is not patient, so she must really be pulling out the big guns.

“Laney and the love of my life, give that boy some breathing room, for goodness sake. You’ll scare her off before you even meet her.” Gotta love Dad for putting them in their place but still doing it in a gentle way so Mom won’t get upset.

It doesn’t take me long until I’m opening up Selena’s door, whispering, “They don’t bite, swear it.”

“Oh my gosh, look how gorgeous she is,” I hear my mom say. Laney states, “Her hair, I know women who would kill for that.”

“I’m okay. They seem really nice. And remember, my best friend is Raven, so them not having a filter is kind of normal for me. My nerves are better, but it’d probably be best if we got this show on the road and not make them wait much longer.” Selena already has her seatbelt off and is halfway out the door after she says that.

“Atta girl.” I wink at her, help her down, and then it’s time for Selena to meet my family. A family that will be hers before too much longer, if I get my way at least.

Rhett was right. His family makes you feel like you’re one of their own. We’re all sitting around the dining room table, all of dinner including dessert has been devoured, the dishes have been done, and now we’re all enjoying a chat.

Laney, Mrs. Spencer, and I are chatting quietly while Mr. Spencer, Rhett, and Creed are doing the same, but I’m pretty sure they’re talking shop while we’re doing our own kind of gossiping. I’m telling them about Raven and how she’s basically my sister from another mister.

“Oh, she has to teach me her dance moves. Creed would be all for that.” Laney wiggles her eyebrows after I slipped up when they asked if she worked at the family restaurant. It’s not that I’m ashamed of Raven’s choice of job, and Raven surely isn’t, but it’s more about it being her choice to share or not. Given the way Laney’s eyes are popping out and the blush Mrs. Spencer is wearing, I’m thinking they’re as okay with it as anyone else would be.

“I’m sure she’d do that. I keep telling her she should open a studio and offer classes,” I explain to them.

“I’d sign up, even if it was only once a week. It would be worth it to knock Creed off his feet.” Raven will for sure need to come with us, or we need to drag Laney to Ward soon.

“When she’s done with college, I think she’d be more apt to think about it. She and I are both in business and marketing classes. It would only make sense.”

“I knew I’d like her. She’s business oriented. Rhett got himself a good one, Momma.” Oh lord, Laney is a hoot. She and Raven together could end up with a lot of laughter, and I can only imagine the drinking that would ensue. I bet dancing on bar tops or tables would make for a hell of a good time.

“You about done stealing my woman?” I was so busy talking to the girls that I didn’t hear Rhett come up behind me. He places his hands on my shoulders, massaging them, and it’s taking everything not to moan at the feel.

“If you must. Make sure she comes back. Just because you’re off for the next two days doesn’t mean you get to hide her away. We have some shopping to do,” Mrs. Spencer says, bringing a smile to my face.

“I’ll just leave you my number. That way, he doesn’t try and keep shopping from happening,” I tease, but Laney already has her phone out and ready for us to exchange numbers.

“Shit, I’m so screwed,” he grumbles, but when I move my head in his direction, there’s a grin written all over Rhett’s face.

“Rhett Spencer, don’t you be cursing in my house,” I hear Mrs. Spencer say. Everyone laughs.

“We all know you’re the one who curses more than all of us put together,” Creed states, trying to hold his laughter in.

“Alright, dinner was great, Mom, but we’re heading out.” My hand moves to his on my shoulder, squeezing it in agreement.

“Fine, give me a hug at least.” Rhett does that, then she’s swooping in, and I’m wrapped up in her arms, along with everyone else who’s at the house before we leave and head to Rhett’s place.

The second we walked in the door to my place, I dropped our bags. There’s something to be said about having your woman in your own house. Sure, Selena’s apartment is nice, but to know she’s here now, it’ll give me all kinds of memories to fist my cock to while getting off when we’re apart.
