Then she gave him a smile so sweet it nearly made his teeth ache.

He grabbed her hand and tugged until she was flush against him. He bent down and brushed his lips against her ear. “Babe, you have my full permission to use me in any way you need for as long as you need it.” Christ, the way she shivered had him so fucking hard.

Her eyes widened, and she stumbled back as he released her.

“Careful,” he warned with a wink.

“Uh, yeah. Thanks.” He jerked a thumb over her shoulder. “I’ll just, uh… see you inside.”

She disappeared behind the door, and Frost took an extra second to count by sevens until his cock deflated. Just as he was about to declare himself fit for the public, a loud laugh had him whipping around.

“Oh, prospect, this is just too damn delicious.”

Groaning, Frost folded his arms across his chest and faced Jinx with a raised eyebrow. His brother had a joint in one hand and one of those cookie drinks in the other.

“First time ol’ Frost starts to melt, and it’s the prez’s long lost baby sister providing the heat.” He laughed again, this time with a wink. “It’s been nice knowing you, man. It’s been nice knowing you.” Then with a final obnoxious boom of laughter, he walked around the side of the building, leaving Frost alone outside.

“Fuck,” he mumbled.

He had a problem.

A big fucking problem.

Because even thoughts of Curly murdering him in his sleep didn’t curb his desire for Rachel.

CHAPTER SIX

RACHEL TRIED TO participate in the tree trimming and conversation.

She really did.

But most of the night, she sat slack-jawed and bug-eyed, gaping at the ridiculous antics happening all around her. The men and women in her brother’s club were so big. And not physically—though most of the men fit that description as well—their larger-than-life personalities captivated her. They were loud, boisterous, silly, and all completely comfortable in their own skin. No one cared if they made a fool of themselves, if the others teased them, or they goaded their friends. What had her most transfixed was how the women ragged on those huge men who could take them out with one punch, and they did it without an ounce of fear.

What would that be like? To be so confident in her safety, even among a group of rough, tough, and potentially violent men. To know no matter what they said or did, no harm would come to them.

Rachel lived her life with so much fear of being hurt again that she rarely sought new experiences or grabbed life by the horns.

Maybe it was time to start. Maybe finding Curly was the first step toward conquering her fear.

All night, Tracker regaled them with stories of clients with over-the-top tattoo requests. Spec got wasted and serenaded Oliva with an ear-bleeding rendition of “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.” Pulse, who’d seemed the quietest and most reserved until he had a few drinks, tried to give Olivia a lap dance and ended up on his ass on the floor after Spec body-slammed him. Rachel had been horrified, but everyone, including Pulse, laughed their faces off, so it seemed he wasn’t injured or upset.

Curly was more subdued than she’d expected. He sat back and watched much of the goings on, similar to her. Occasionally, his gaze caught hers, and he winked or smiled. Seemed she and her brother had a few things in common.

Surprisingly enough, Jinx was the one who had her laughing so hard her sides ached. He’d whipped his shirt off during Spec’s singing and performed a tipsy interpretive dance. Jo decided he needed some decorations, so she hung jingle bell ornaments from the hoops in his nipples. The man was insufferable and ended up shimming around the room, jingling all the way. That was when Rachel spit her beer all over herself, earning whoops and hollers from the group.

Then there’d been Frost.

The man stayed by her side the entire evening. Either everyone sensed she had massive issues, or Frost erected some force field around them because none of the men came too close, no one crowded her, and no one made her feel uncomfortable in the least. It went a long way toward easing her initial anxiety.

He’d touched her too.

Often and without hesitation.

An arm across her shoulders.

A hand on her back.

Brushing her hair away from her face.

And the time he’d rested his hand on her thigh. That one nearly did her in. It felt so good. The warmth, the pressure, the way her nerve endings popped and fizzled.

The craziest part was how his touch didn’t bring an ounce of anxiety. Not for one single second. In fact, she felt the opposite. She felt hot, bothered, and lightheaded in the best way possible.

It’d been so long since she felt physical desire for a man, she’d wondered if she was broken.
