Canyon “Blitz” Madsen didn’t believe in mercy. When the Redline Kings MC secretary learned one of his prospects was an undercover fed, he planned to seduce the agent’s innocent younger sister as revenge. But he ultimately decided it was a line he wouldn’t cross.

Then he met Aubrey Cullen and knew leaving her alone wasn’t an option. One look at the sweet nanny, and Blitz was gone. Now caught between the secret that could destroy them and the fierce need to protect her, he’ll do anything to keep Aubrey safe—even working with the FBI brother he once wanted to destroy

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

BLITZ

Istepped out of Jax’s office—the tech genius for my MC—letting the heavy door swing shut behind me. I moved into the hallway and braced my shoulder against the wall, staring at the opposite one without really seeing it. A heavy tension had settled deep in my gut, like an anchor dragging me down. I knew this feeling. It was fucking betrayal.

The realization twisted into anger, confusion, and frustration. A prospect I’d brought into the fold, a man I’d called a friend and soon-to-be brother, was something else entirely. Tripp was something dangerous. And hidden.

As secretary for the club, I oversaw prospect development and evaluated whether they were truly Redline Kings material. Knowing I’d fucked up so spectacularly was like swallowing jagged glass.

Fuck!

I blew out a slow, measured breath and rubbed a hand roughly over my jaw, replaying it all back from the very beginning.

I’d met Tripp at an underground race months back. Our MC was built on and surrounded by the racing culture. Motorcycles, cars, legal races, and illegal ones—we had our hands in all of it.

Our president, Kane, was a world-renowned racer. Despite being big for a driver, he was known for his sharp reflexes and calm dominance. His body knew exactly how to handle any motorcycle or race car he drove without having to think about it. Then he won enough races to gain the capital to build his own racing teams and eventually tracks. Combining all of that with smart investments, he’d become a billionaire and a fucking giant in the industry—controlling the professional and underground racing world in the South the way the DeLuca crime family ruled New York.

Everyone knew not to fuck with Kane or his brother, Edge, our VP. And when they founded the Redline Kings, he hadn’t even been given a road name. He’d built his reputation as a fair but merciless, lethal motherfucker, so definitively that his real name became synonymous with fear and respect. When people heard “Kane,” they already knew who the hell it was.

Tripp had raced that first night, landing an impressive fourth place. Not dominant enough to trigger suspicion, but clearly talented. I’d come in second, finishing just behind Edge. Afterward, I’d approached the newcomer, teasing him good-naturedly about finishing fourth.

Tripp had taken the ribbing easily, flashing a quick grin and giving as good as he got. That night had started our friendship.

From then on, we’d hang out frequently after races, sharing drinks and jokes and forging a strong camaraderie. Soon, I started bringing him around the club socially and introducing him to the brothers. He’d fit in surprisingly well.

Eventually, I’d suggested prospecting. Kane told Jax to run a background check on him. Everything had checked out—family, old addresses, etc. His employment history had been thin, but he’d won enough races for us to assume he lived mostly off the purses he’d earned

Tripp had quickly earned the club’s trust. He was funny, laid back, and undeniably talented, but something about him had always seemed just slightly off. I’d attributed it to past trauma, sensing that Tripp carried some unseen weight that he didn’t share openly.

But as time passed, more subtle inconsistencies emerged.

Looking back now, the first time I should have noticed something was off was when we went to the gun range. We always took prospects to assess their ability with weapons so we knew who could be sent on certain runs, and if they were eligible for certain roles, like being an enforcer.

Tripp had obviously had weapons training, and when I inquired about it, he told me it was from learning to hunt with his dad. But that wouldn’t explain his expert marksmanship with handguns. And while Tripp’s dossier showed that he had a concealed weapons permit, he’d mentioned that he didn’t own a gun.

I noticed Tripp avoiding conversations about family and deflecting any questions that became too personal. He redirected attention quietly, carefully keeping the focus off himself. I initially chalked it up to private struggles, but now it seemed far more deliberate.

Then the federal raid had happened. A warehouse just outside Crossbend, sitting near a critical transport corridor used by the MC’s operations, had been busted wide fucking open. The feds discovered that it was a major hub for laundering, trafficking, and weapons operations.

The Redline Kings had zero ties to that warehouse or its activities, but it didn’t matter. The warehouse sat dangerously close to routes frequently traveled by the club’s vehicles—transport rigs, security teams, and race equipment.

In hindsight, it was obvious that federal surveillance had captured Kings-affiliated vehicles repeatedly moving through the area. The feds wouldn’t have realized it was coincidental—they would have begun building a case, theorizing a connection between the warehouse operations and Kane’s empire. It was exactly the kind of misunderstanding that could’ve done massive damage.

Except it didn’t.

Because just before the raid went down, Tripp had brought unusual activity to Kane’s attention—strange vehicles parked near the transport route, unfamiliar surveillance gear, and odd movements along the corridor. At the time, it seemed exactly what a loyal, observant prospect would do, eager to prove himself to the club. Kane had agreed it felt off and had promptly rerouted all Kings-related vehicles through alternate routes as a precaution.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned…

The day I was found in the woods covered in blood, I decided the world would know my wrath.
I was betrayed by the people I trusted the most, so I crafted a plan. During the daylight I attend college, but at night, I have my vengeance.
Spine Ridge University is my playground, and I can make any student bend to my will with the snap of a finger to get my way.
Until two depraved boys of the Tartarus House, a secret society filled with debauchery, discover the trail of bodies I left behind … and decide they’re going to help me.
I don’t play by the rules, but my twisted games only make Xavier and Orion that much more possessive of me. They yearn so badly it haunts me, and their filthy proposition soon becomes irresistible.
We’re a perfect macabre match and a killer’s dream come true.
But time is ticking…
Because Atreus, an obsessive cop, is hunting me down. His righteousness is just the right amount of unhinged for my kind of crazy, and we can’t stay away from each other.
A thrilling game of cat and mouse was just what I needed to stay on my toes …
Let the carnage begin

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PLAYLIST

You can listen to the music used for writing this book on the Youtube Playlist.

“Kneel for me,” I growl.

With a single index finger, I manage to bring all three devilish boys to my heel.

It’s such a high to watch such reluctant boys bend to my will after I’ve killed off their resistance. My murder sprees are what brought us together, and their devotion to me keeps them tethered to this earth.

But God … our collective vengeance was delicious.

Xavier, the neediest of them all, slips off my boot and kisses my leg, while Orion begs for my attention at my side.

Atreus, the greediest of the three, grabs my face and says, “We’re yours.”

I never could’ve imagined in my wildest dreams I’d have not one, but three of these wicked men at my beck and call, ready to serve.

A devilish smirk spreads across my lips. “How badly do you crave me?”

“More than anything,” Xavier says, kissing my thigh.

“I would die for your attention,” Orion says, kissing the top of my hand.

“I rearranged my soul to come close to yours,” Atreus says, bringing his lips closer to mine.

“Good boys deserve to be chained forever,” I say.

I snap my fingers and wait for Orion to bring the bag with the new toys I bought. I pull out the three spiked collars and watch their eyes glow with both excitement and fear. “Now, who’s ready to be mine?”

CHAPTER 1

Sunny

I crawl across the ground, nails digging into the mud, as I leave a trail of blood in my wake.

I can’t die here.

Not now.

Not yet.

Not like this.

Despite the crippling pain, I keep putting one hand in front of the other in a desperate attempt to get to safety. I don’t know where or how, but I will make it. I’ve gotten so far already, and even though I can’t fucking walk on my own two feet anymore, I will not quit.

My teeth grind together as I shove my knees forward, groaning from the agony, but I refuse to give up.

I’m a motherfucking Reed, and Reeds never fucking give up.

I will not quit on myself, even if the world has decided I should.

Another drag across the mud, and my legs slide sideways, while blistering pain shoots up my thighs and belly, and I screech.

“Fuck!”

BANG!

The sudden gunshot makes me stop.

That came from somewhere close.

Was I followed?

Are they coming to finish the job?

I crawl and crawl, trying to get as far away from the area the gunshot came from, exerting myself over my physical limit. As my hands slip away, my chin drops down into the mud, which splatters all across my face, and I lie there with my eyes closed for a moment to breathe through the pain while the rain pours down on me.

I’m going to make it. I have to…

So I can rain hell on the motherfuckers who betrayed me.

Xavier

I hold the paper against the wooden board and smash the tape against the flyer, making sure it’s tightly secured and clearly visible before I move on to the next board I can find on this campus, which is on the second floor of the building.

I have already plastered these all over campus under the judgmental gazes of plenty of students, but I don’t care what they think of me. I won’t stop pasting these flyers all over Spine Ridge University until I’m out of paper.

I run up the stairs without looking and nearly bump into my half brother Silas.
I did a teeny, tiny bad thing for a very good reason.

Lauren

When I heard my aunt was about to lose her home, I couldn’t just sit by. I had to do something. So, I started a fundraiser inviting people to cuddle a cowboy and well, it kind of went viral.

Now, women are bidding on these big, bearded cowboys who are grumpy and scowling. But the grumpiest one is Bronco. He’s my brother’s best friend, and he’s furious with me for using his farm this way.

I should probably tell him that I got the winning bid on him.

Bronco

This cowboy wants to cuddle. Problem is, the only one I want to cuddle is my best friend’s little sister. She’s sunshine and sweetness and temptation rolled into one vintage vixen.

When I told her to use the farm as a fundraiser, I had no idea she’d be putting me on the auction block.

Now, it’s time for this cowboy to put his boot down and show Lauren that she’s the one who belongs in his arms.

If you love a gruff cowboy who will do anything to make his curvy woman smile, then climb onto Bronco’s horse. It’s going to be a wild ride, but you’ll ache in the best way.

This is a steamy cowboy rom com with plenty of on-page spice between a gruff cowboy and his curvy woman set in the welcoming, small town of Courage County. If that sounds like your kind of story, click to read now

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter 1

Lauren

I read a statistic that said if you have one person you can call in the middle of the night who will drop everything to come help you, then you should count yourself lucky. Well, I guess I’m doubly lucky because my person also happens to be a cranky cowboy with a heart of pure gold.

“Hey, sweetheart.” The moment, I hear my brother’s best friend’s voice some of the tension bleeds from my shoulders. He is the cranky cowboy. He’s cranky with everyone. Except me.

I stare at my bedroom wall where the water spot grows bigger by the second, a distinct rushing sound behind it. I whisper into the phone, “I need you.”

“I’m on the way.”

It’s two in the morning. He doesn’t sound all that awake, but his tone is gentle. It could make a girl think she were special to him if she were foolish enough to believe in such things. “I’m sorry to wake you.”

“Wasn’t sleeping anyway,” he answers as if I can’t read the lie in his rumbly voice. Still, it makes me feel better that he’s trying to make me feel better. Bronco has been like this as long as I’ve known him, though I’ve only known him for a few years.

He and my brother, Vale, became best friends when they were serving in the Marines together. They were supposed to come home and start a ranch for veterans, a place where guys returning from combat could transition back to civilian life.

Except that only one of them came home.

Now, Bronco looks after me because I’m his responsibility. The little sister he inherited from Vale. Problem is, I’ve never once looked at Bronco and thought of him as a big brother. I’ve always thought of him as a man—a big, gruff man with eyes that are stormy blue and a bushy beard I want to touch.

I listen to the sound of his quiet breathing and the rustle of clothes as he pulls them on. Does Bronco sleep naked? Is that a normal thing to wonder about your brother’s best friend? Somehow, I don’t think it is.

I wish things were different between us. I wish he’d want me back. I wish he’d take me in his arms and kiss me until I can’t think anymore. But if I can’t have that, then I wish I didn’t think of him at all. I wish I could be content, happy even, with his begrudging friendship.

Instead, I’m stuck with a helpless crush that I’ve never been able to shake. I guess, it’s my fault really. When Vale told me about Staff Sergeant Hayes, a gruff loner with no family of his own, something in my heart hurt.

I hated the idea that there was a man out there, willing to give everything to protect his men and no one was looking out for him.

After that, when I sent care packages to Vale, I included little treats for Bronco. He never said thank you or acknowledged a thing I did. But I knew it mattered. I knew it in the way that only someone who’s been abandoned too could know it.

“Tell me something,” he says, and I hear the truck door slam. He’s on the way. Help is on the way. Tears prick at my eyes when the thought comes, and I have to blink them back. Bronco doesn’t know how bad things are here. No one does.

I haven’t told him because it’s not his mess. This is my mess. I made it. I have to figure out how to clean it up. Except that I’ve never been so scared in my life, and I’m terrified that the people I care most about are going to pay for it.

“Like w-what?” I ask, stalling for time.

“A favorite memory,” he answers easily. “What’s one of your favorite memories?”

It only takes me a moment to think of one. “There used to be a magnolia tree on the property. It was the first thing I noticed the day my mom aban—dropped me and Vale off here.”

I’m not sure how much of our past Vale told Bronco. I don’t guess it matters. A lot of kids are abandoned by their drug addicted mom. Most kids just aren’t abandoned by their mom at a retirement community.

My Aunt Elaine is the director of the Wildflower Retirement Community. She didn’t blink or hesitate when my mom left the two of us on her doorstep. She hugged both me and Vale, gave us her trademark sunny smile, and promised that things were going to be all right.

Because of her, I grew up in this retirement home. I spent my days running the halls and doing craft time with the seniors. It was like having a big extended family filled with dozens and dozens of grandparents. Most of them doted on us, and very few complained about the noise we made. Instead, we were embraced as part of the community.
I don't lose cases.
I don't lose sleep.
And I certainly don't lose my mind over women.

Why would I?

For the past twelve years, I've built a reputation as the attorney people hire when they want to win. I don't believe in distractions, complications, or anything remotely resembling a relationship.

My life works exactly the way I want it to.

Until her.

This woman was supposed to be a stranger.
A drunk college girl who stumbled into my Porsche and assumed I was her Uber driver...

Yet somehow, I keep running into her.

Every other day...

Then I find out she's been working at my firm.

I should've fired her immediately—for constantly tempting me with her cherry red lips—but I didn't.

I let her stay on for my next trial, let her keep challenging me until, for the first time in my career, I'm not sure winning is worth it.

And that's a problem.

Because some cases have consequences long after the verdict is read...

Final Verdict is Book 1 in a brand new legal romance series

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PLAYLIST

Hate That I Made You Love Me by Ariana Grande

What’s left of their tortured hearts is tucked deep in their pockets, all because the pain of living from verdict to verdict is far too much to keep in their chests.

Contrary to what we’re taught in law school, the courtroom is not a place to fight for justice; it’s a stage where the jury is the ultimate audience, and the best actor wins.

Unfortunately, I have yet to receive all the awards and accolades I deserve, but my undefeated record speaks for itself.

It’s only during moments like today, for cases like this, that I wonder if my A-list acting can overcome how much the jury despises my definitely guilty client…

“Spit out the gum,” I say to her. “And don’t roll your eyes when the judge reads the verdict.”

“It’s not gum.” She sticks out a tongue full of crushed red candy. “These are cherry Pop Rocks.”

“Spit them out. Now.”

“Okay.” She winks and bends down under our table, staring into my eyes as she drools into the trash can. Just like she drooled over an undercover police officer’s cock in exchange for drugs—the very incident that brought us here.

“There.” She licks her lips as she sits up. “Happy, Mr. Tate?”

I hope he locks your ass up for life.

“All rise for the jury!” the bailiff announces.

I stand to my feet and watch their faces, trying to see which way they voted, but their faces are stoic as stone.

“Has the jury reached a verdict?” the judge asks.

“Yes, Your Honor, we have,” the foreperson says.

The judge motions for the bailiff to retrieve the form, and out of the corner of my eye I catch one of the jurors—a brunette woman in the back—shaking her head at my client.

Dammit.

“On the first count of solicitation of prostitution,” the judge reads, “this jury finds the defendant, Clarissa Ridgeland, not guilty.”

Miss Ridgeland squeezes my hand.

“On the second count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance—the jury finds this defendant not guilty.”

Stunned, I slowly nod as he rattles off his appreciation for everyone. Then—as usual—I wait for someone to finally walk through the side doors to hand me an Oscar.

It never comes.

“Court is adjourned.” The judge bangs his gavel, and my client doesn’t even say thank you. She rushes out of the room at the speed of light.

You’re welcome…

Sighing, I slide my notes into a briefcase and slam it shut.

As I’m turning around to leave, I find myself staring right into the glaring eyes of the state prosecutor.

“Well, hello, Julia,” I say. “Tough loss for you today. No hard feelings.”

“Feelings?” She scoffs. “I’m shocked you even know what those are, Jameson.”

“Me too.” I smile. “I’ve read about them a lot, though.”

“Okay, seriously.” She shakes her head. “How the hell do you sleep at night?”

“I turn off the lights and occasionally put on some rain sounds. Would you like a link to my playlist?”

“I would like you to get fucked.”

“I don’t need any help in that department.”

“I mean, get ‘fucked over’—as in ruined.” She glares at me. “Your client was guilty as sin, and everyone in this courtroom knew it.”

“Everyone except the jury, apparently…”

“They gave the wrong verdict this time.” She stabs a finger against my chest, enunciating every syllable. “Protecting the guilty will come back to haunt you when you least expect it, Jameson. Trust me.”

“I wouldn’t trust you to help me walk across the street.”

“Sooner or later, the devil will come to address the debt you owe him.”

“Do you know if he’ll be paying via cash or check?”

Her face reddens and she lets out an unsteady breath. Then, as if she knows she’ll never—ever—win a war of words with me, her lips curve into an uneven smile.

“Until we meet again, Mr. Jameson,” she says.

Until you lose again, you mean.

I hold back my thoughts and push open the gate for her.

“Have a good night, Miss Bantam.”

She stomps past the pews and out of my sight.

I take one last look around at the empty courtroom, waiting to feel a morsel of regret for tampering with Lady Justice’s scales for a win today, but nothing comes.

The system fucking owes me…

Swinging my briefcase over the gate, I walk past the pews and step into the hallway.

“That prosecutor lady is right, you know?” Clarissa Ridgeland suddenly stands up from a bench. “I heard everything she said to you.”

“I was hoping you’d disappeared somewhere I’d never have to see you again,” I say. “Please go enjoy your freedom.”
Emily’s an eighteen-year-old barrel-racing trust-fund baby who has only ever wanted one cowboy. She’s climbed him, kissed him, tempted him six ways to Sunday, trying to get him to break, and he’s made sure she’s stayed as pure as Ivory Soap as well.
Roman’s a bad boy built like his jacked-up Ford with a heart that’s been tethered to one hot filly since he first learned to walk. With a face every cowgirl in Montana wants to ride, no one would guess Roman’s been holding back his first time for his one and only.
Only, Roman wants to shake the tragedy of his past and prove to Emily’s father he’s the man she needs before he takes her to the altar and pops that cherry good and proper.
But there’s someone lurking in the background of this happily ever after, and he’s ready to ruin it all.

Author’s Note: The Worth the Wait collection is all virgins, love at first sight, and shameless indulgent fantasy. These are the second-generation children of the couples in books one and two. You get a hot breeding obsessed cowboy and a brazen cowgirl who just wants to ride her man good and proper. If you want to disappear into a low plot, hot sm u tty wonderland with a happily ever after, no cheating, and an obsessed alpha who will conquer his past for his girl? Step inside. We’ve got the goods

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

Emily

“I'm 18. Totally legal. No more fear of committing a felony with an underage gal.” I wink at Roman, who I can tell from the knot in his forehead is ready to pop an aneurysm. “I’m serving this up on a plate for you. How can you possibly say no?”

I reach over as he pulls the truck off the main street into the parking lot, and run my hand down the exquisite hardness of his chest.

A chest I've known and watched grow from the little boy who became part of my Aunt Leah and Uncle Allister’s family when he was just three years old to the man he definitely is now.

We've been in this truck for two and a half hours, running down from our combined family's ranch compound in middle Montana to the college town on the border of Wyoming where my cousins, Roman's brother and sister, go to school.

Roman was adopted, so he’s not blood-related to any of us, but still, in our hearts, we’re family in every way that’s important.

My pussy has been throbbing the whole drive.

I have dreamed of climbing him like a tree for so long, I can’t remember who I was before this constant, unrelenting ache started inside of me.

He’s patient, if not infuriating, and as sweet as he is with me, there’s a seething bad boy just under the surface, ready to pop out and go fist to cuffs, probably more than he should.

There’s also a sad cowboy origin story behind that jaw-dropping chest. And those dark chocolate eyes. But someday, I hope he finally realizes it doesn’t matter where you start in life. It’s where you end up.

“I think you love this truck more than you love me,” I tease as he finds a spot under a huge shady tree and puts it in park. “You let me sit out in the sun. What if my paint starts to crack?” I nibble the end of my thumb while tugging the collar of my shirt to the side, exposing my chest and the indent of my cleavage.

“You want me to blow up my truck to show my devotion?” His thick, masculine voice makes frustrating things happen down below my belly button.

I bare my teeth in a playful growl. “I want to say yes, but I know you’d do it, then I’d feel twenty Sundays of bad about being a brat. And then we wouldn’t have a truck, and you’re one of two people I trust to haul Ruby around to my competitions.”

Ruby Tuesday is my mare, and we are sitting first in the regional 1D standings. Minnie Mae is my trainer and the only other person I’ll allow to haul Ruby. And Roman actually feels the same way about his champion quarter horse, Cavalier.

We’ve just parked outside the building where Roman’s adopted brother and sister have an off-campus condo. My twin cousins, Casey and Carrie, are already at college because they’re bona fide geniuses, but the four of us have been sharing secrets and making mischief as far back as our memories go.

We are each other’s ride or die.

‘Hunnerd percent.

“I’m not blowing up my truck.” He extends his arm and grabs me by the back of my hair, pulls my head forward, and plants a warm but powerful kiss on my forehead.

“I just want to know what it feels like to have that monster you've got down there inside me.” I pout, and Roman lets out a low growl as I give him my flutteriest lashes. “Pretty please? I dream about it even. Every night. I want all that bad boy baby batter fillin’ me up good n’ proper.”

I flutter my lashes some more, and he swallows, and that movement of his Adam's apple in his throat does things to me down low.

“Soon, baby.” He releases my hair as the truck’s diesel engine settles into a low idling rumble.

I’ve dreamed of being pregnant with my sort-of-cousin’s baby so long it’s shameful. I think I wanted to be the mother of his babies before I even knew how babies were made.

But along with that, I also have this thing… I want my dad’s approval of the man I’ll marry. It’s important to me to know that we have his blessing.

It’s all wrapped up with hormones and horniness, but deep down, if I ever saw disappointment in my father’s eyes, it would kill me.

Roman knows it, and he’s been living with my dual personalities, one of which would jump him in an instant, while the other would die inside knowing she disappointed her daddy.

Well, her first daddy, I should say.

“Saint Roman,” I tease on a dramatic exhale. “Your balls must be the color of blueberries.”

His hand darts out, fingers clamping at my windpipe, and suddenly, breathing is impossible. There’s a second of fear, but gosh, how I love it when he gets bossy and rough.
Previously as When She’s Mine no longer available published long ago. This book has been re-edited, largely re-written, additional content added. Now…what you are getting…
Allister Marshall is built like a wrecking ball and runs a club where every down-on-their-luck stray can change their life. What this big bruiser doesn’t have? Any clue what to do with a woman. He’s been holding his v-card for the one, thank you very much, and the day he unlocks a forgotten basement dungeon and finds the most beautiful woman alive chained inside, every cell in his oversized body knows.

Mine. I’m getting inside that and never leaving.

Leah Morgan was raised dripping in money and locked away from the world, hidden by the very family meant to protect her. Until old debts come calling. Now she’ll trade her ivory tower for a dungeon. She’s never been touched. Neither has he. The first time is going to wreck them both. She’s his to feed, his to spoil, his to ruin. But when she slips out of his grip a second time, Allister learns there’s no line a virgin brute won’t cross for his woman

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

Leah

It was a nice little service. My sister's wedding, that is. To her whirlwind new love, Decker. I'm happy.

Right?

Let's go with ambivalent.

You know what else I am?

Horny.

I can't believe I just used that word. I've never felt this before, and I'm not sure how I feel about feeling it now.

But, my God. The man about to climb into the back of this limo with me is causing crazy things to happen down low.

Crazy wonderful.

And crazy wet.

Gah.

Allister.

That's his name. That's a great name.

He's Decker's best man and best friend, and I do my best not to stare as he lowers himself into the back of the limo, leaving the door open behind him.

Allister Marshall fills the available space, side to side, roof to floor. His massive hands come to rest on his thighs, and I'm mesmerized by the veins shifting under the skin, the tendons working, hands that look like they could crush bone.

My gaze drifts as a breath swells his chest, the starched white shirt under his charcoal suit pulling taut across all that muscle.

He looks at me, and I struggle to swallow the golf ball that feels lodged in my throat. This man looks hungry.

For me.

The girl with braces on her legs. The girl who gives in to the wheelchair at night because she can't stand the pain anymore.

Me.

I think this mountain of masculinity wants me.

In some way.

Maybe in the ways I've only read about in my stacks of worn, dovetailed books with wispy, corseted women on the covers. Ways I've never known in real life.

Never felt.

I feel it now, in the dampness between my thighs and the hair prickling at the nape of my neck.

I battle to hold onto the eye contact and lose. My gaze flits and flies, alighting on pieces of him, then landing on some fascinating fleck of dust on the floor.

He looks like something a careless god built to ruin women. His heartbeat seems to thrum in the very air of the car, and mine must be taking its cue, because it's trying to break out of my chest while he sits there, calm, those cut features sharp and yet, intensely relaxed.

A short growth of dark hair covers what used to be a slick, bald head, and I wonder what made him start to grow it out.

Wilson, my driver, shuts the door behind Allister with a click, and the limo dips slightly as he settles into the front seat.

Allister’s nostrils flare slightly as I inspect his face for a blink.

I note the age difference between us in the lines around his eyes, the three across his forehead. Less than ten years between us, I’d guess. That only flutters my heart more. And he's other things besides older.

Experienced.

Controlled.

Impeccable.

The Bentley pulls away, near-silent but I feel it moving.

Why doesn’t he say something? God, this is unbearable. I’m counting my heartbeats as they bang around in my chest.

How can he sit there looking so calm?

"I can't believe my little sister is married." I blurt unable to hide the quiver in my voice.

My face flames as Allister swallows and shifts his hips, and the limo jerks as Wilson works us through traffic toward Decker's guesthouse, where I've been staying ever since the police found me locked and bound in a room in the basement of my family's mansion.

Well. The police were there. The one who actually found me was him.

Allister.

Why do I love that name so much?

"Why can't you believe she's married?" Allister's voice matches the rest of him, a sonic boom that nearly knocks my head into the headrest.

I turn to the window, hunting for an answer that doesn't make me sound like a selfish brat.

I was afraid of him when he came into that room to rescue me. The day still plays on a loop in my dreams. The dark, the bindings, then light pouring in from the doorway, and people everywhere. My first thought: I'm safe. Then Allister, nearly blocking out the light again, and I screamed and pounded him with my fists the second he cut me loose. Not one blow earned a wince.

Not from him. My little cotton-candy fists, banging against the solid lead under his clothes.

I'm lost in the contradiction of it. Just being this close has my breath coming short and hot. But, there’s kindness under all that menace, a golden heart glowing straight through the tailored suit.

And yet he's tied to everything I've lost. He's Decker's best friend.

Decker, who's taken May away from me.

I shake the selfish thought loose. May is happy. Decker is amazing. I'm being a petulant child.

"I don't know." I reach for something honest. "I should be the one taking care of her. Not some stranger she only just met."

His eyes settle on me, and I shrink into the seat. Tiger's eyes, gold bleeding into brown until I can't tell where one ends and the other starts.

As the man who kept the Redline Kings’ garage running smooth, Gauge fixed bikes and stayed out of trouble. Until Riley Mercer rolled into Crossbend. One look at the sassy beauty with car trouble, and Gauge knew she was his.
He gave Riley the job she desperately needed, but when he found out she was on the run from the law, Gauge didn’t fire her. He protected her. Now he’ll clear her name so he can claim the only woman who’s ever matched him under the hood

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

1

RILEY

When my mom warned me that my dedication to my job would be the death of me, she’d meant the hours I put in. Not what I stumbled across tonight. But I really wished we were close enough that I hadn’t shrugged off her concern because then maybe I wouldn’t have accidentally discovered physical inventory shortages on high-value performance parts.

Wondering what the heck was going on, I headed to my boss’s office. When I found his son there instead, I almost changed my mind about saying anything. Shawn wasn’t my favorite person at the garage, but Tim had been giving him more responsibility over the past few months.

I’d been irritated by that decision because Shawn didn’t take his job very seriously. He was kicked back in his dad’s chair like he already owned the place, scrolling on his phone.

He didn’t even bother to look up as he murmured, “What do you need?”

“For you to do your job,” I muttered.

His head jerked up, his eyes narrowing. “What the hell are you complaining about?”

I strode forward, stopping behind one of the chairs in front of the desk. “When your dad handled the inventory, there weren’t huge mistakes like this.”

His gaze zeroed in on the clipboard I was holding. “You shouldn’t poke around where you don’t belong.”

“I belong here more than you do,” I shot back. “Customers ask for me by name. I’ve been building bikes and tuning cars since I was eighteen. You just sign the checks your daddy gives you.”

His grin faltered, but that didn’t stop him from blustering. “You have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about.”

I dropped the paperwork onto the desk. “The wiring harness this shows for the Conrad job I did last week is wrong. Same with the dog-box transmission. The parts listed are half the cost of what I actually used.”

He shook his head. “You’re wrong.”

“Wrong?” I echoed, my eyes widening. “That’s not possible. I selected each part and installed it myself.”

Leaning back in his chair, he crossed his arms over his chest. “That’s not what the records show.”

“Only because you messed up.” A horrible possibility crossed my mind. “Please tell me you didn’t charge them for the cheaper parts listed. That’d mean we lost sixty thousand on the job instead of making a healthy profit.”

“That’s none of your damn business,” he growled. “You’re a performance technician. Focus on the cars. I’ll handle the rest.”

“Your dad—”

Slamming his hands on top of the desk, Shawn stood. “Leave my father out of this.”

“But he—”

“Won’t believe a word you say.” He flashed me a smug smile. “I’m his son. The one he trusts to run this place.”

“And you’re already proving he shouldn’t have if you’re making giant mistakes like this.”

“It’s a good thing you’re good with engines because you’re not as smart as you think you are.” Something ugly flashed in his eyes. “Go running to my dad, and you’ll find your name all over this shit.”

My head reared back. “What?”

“I’ve been planning for this, sweetheart. Paper trail’s already pointing straight at you. Parts signed out under your login. Deposits that look like you were skimming. Hell, I even made a couple of transfers from an account with your name on it.”

This was even worse than I’d thought. None of this was a mistake. Shawn was embezzling from his own father’s business. “You’re bluffing.”

“Am I?” He circled the desk. “You say one word to my old man or the cops, and you’re the one going down. I’ll make sure of it. And trust me—you really don’t want to get tangled up with the people I’ve been paying off with that money. Those guys don’t play nice. They make problems disappear. Permanently.”

The threat landed how he wanted. Racing shops attracted all kinds, and some of them had dangerous connections that went way beyond the track. “You’re a piece of crap, Shawn.”

He smirked. “Maybe. But I’m a piece of shit who’s covered his ass. Run along, Riley. Keep your mouth shut, and maybe I’ll let you keep your job. Or don’t. Either way, you’re fucked.”

I turned and walked out, my mind racing faster than any car on the dyno. I had one chance to get out before everything I’d built went up in flames. Heading straight to the bay next to mine, I plugged the USB drive I kept on my keychain for diagnostics into the workstation's computer. It was mainly used to look up OEM or aftermarket technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and parts specs. But there was access to other systems too, so I copied every suspicious file I could find and yanked the drive out before Shawn realized what I was doing.

My hands didn’t shake as I grabbed my best tools from my bay and some stuff from my locker. Then I slipped out the back door where my car waited in the employee lot. I popped the trunk and loaded everything inside. After a quick stop at my apartment, I hit the nearest ATM to pull out as much cash as I could. Even using the app to increase my daily withdrawal limit, I could only pull out a few thousand dollars, but it was enough to disappear for a little while.
“I’d give up a whole kingdom for just one taste of you.”

Mable Kittrick spent her childhood picking up the pieces of her mother’s disasters, learning that control equals survival. But when her carefully planned life starts feeling like a cage, and people call her boring and rigid, she does something reckless for the first time in her life. She books a solo trip to an island, with no itinerary, no plan, and no idea what awaits… What could possibly go wrong?
Caldwell Montclair is looking forward to his brother’s spontaneous wedding. Not only is it a temporary escape from the weight of a crown he doesn’t yet wear, but maybe, for once, everyone will focus on a love life that isn’t his own. That was until he met her. Mable is too innocently sweet and far too naive to be left all alone. It’s only right that he protects her… and keeps her for himself.

Mable doesn’t have a clue who he is. But he knows exactly who she is: his country’s future queen, his wife-to-be, and very soon the mother of his heirs if he has his way.
He made a deal with his own deception to have her. There isn’t a chance in hell he’ll let her go. Even if it requires hiding his crown or becoming the devil himself to keep her. Caldwell knows that if he can just get her to the island before she discovers the truth, she won’t be able to escape.

And he always gets his way. Because some vows, once made, last forever.

This series is dedicated to timeless love stories. It’s got all the tropes you desire, with all of my usual over-the-top alphas and sweetness

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter One

MABLE

The last thing anyone would ever call me is spontaneous. I don’t even care for the word. It causes me anxiety. That is likely because if I were to choose a single word to describe my mother, it would be precisely that.

I never knew what was to come next with her. I’d wake up one morning, and she’d be packing our things and saying we’re spending a month in Amsterdam and then going off to Japan, and who knows where next. Even with my mom being rather well-off, I always felt as though I was scrambling to make sure she had her passport or had booked her flights.

Once we showed up at the airport, and she hadn’t planned anything, saying it would be more fun that way. It wasn’t, not to me. I learned quickly that I needed to be the responsible one. That stuck, and now I’m the way I am, and I rather like it. There are no surprises. I am the antithesis of my mom. I couldn’t tell you what country she’s in right now. Sure, she calls and checks in, but me having gone off to college was best for both of us.

I was accepted into one of the best universities in the world. Those years in college helped my relationship with my mother, even if I do still feel like I’m her parent at times. How I am doesn’t bother me. With how much we traveled growing up, I never got the chance to make friends. I’d struck gold when I got Truly as my roommate. She didn’t mind my quirks.

The university was an all-girl one. With Truly already married, at least on paper, we weren’t out trying to pick up guys. It was not until my final semester of college that I became aware of how far behind I was in terms of dating. Out of curiosity, I downloaded a few apps to see what was out there.

Big mistake. I’d gone on a total of two dates, each with a different man but both equally terrible. I also struggled with flirting in messages. I had more than one of them tell me I was boring, cold, and lacked personality. That I wasn’t pretty enough to be so dull.

Ouch. When multiple people who aren’t connected are telling you something about yourself, you need to take a look inside. I’m not really sure how to do that, but I’m taking inspiration from both my mom and Truly.

I’m going to put myself out there, and there is no time better than now with graduation fresh behind me and my best friend off on a honeymoon. It’s the perfect time to step out and do something I wouldn’t normally do. That’s why I’m now standing in an airport staring up at the upcoming flights, my hand on my luggage in a death grip.

I spot my flight, double-checking my gate for the tenth time to confirm before making my way toward it. There is no reason to have anxiety over this. I don’t have anything pending I need to handle. I’m good to go. I try to reassure myself, but it’s not helping. The urge to tuck tail and not go is strong, but I know I need to do this.

I told myself when I landed I’d pick a hotel. That would make it more spontaneous, but I’m starting to have major regrets. Maybe I can’t do this. What if I land and there isn’t one with availability? Then I’ll be stuck with nowhere to go. I’m sure that’s when a hurricane would roll in, and I packed nothing for a hurricane or even googled what I would need for one.

A group of men’s loud cheers pulls my attention. They are all taking shots and appear to be celebrating. When they notice me staring, I quickly look away.

“Hey!”

“Let us buy you a shot or two.”

“Come on over, sweetheart.” They each start to call out. I glance behind me, not sure who they are speaking to.

“They’re talking to you,” a deep voice rumbles from beside me. “I’ll be buying her drinks,” the man tells them, making them all grumble.

My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth at the sight of him. Good lord. My fingers tighten around my suitcase handle until the plastic ends bite into my palm. I am suddenly aware of every choice I made that morning: the practical sneakers, the comfortable sweater that had seemed so sensible at seven a.m., and the glasses I wore because contacts dry out on planes. I look like someone who checked the weather three times before leaving the house. So basically, I look like I normally do on a daily basis.

As for this man—and that’s what he is: all man—there is a lot to appreciate. Dark, messy, short hair and even darker eyes. The stranger gives me a slow smile, making one dimple appear that almost takes me out right there.
From USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Michelle Heard comes a new STANDALONE, full-length MAFIA ROMANCE novel.

Rosie
To others, Enzo is a ruthless and dangerous underboss, a son of the Falco bloodline. But to me, he’s the one man I can’t stop wanting.
Broody temptation wrapped in tattoos.

There’s a secret I’ve carried for years. At a friend’s club, I set up a date with a stranger to lose my V-card.
No faces. No talking.

Turned out the stranger was Enzo.
He doesn’t know it was me, the girl in the dark who gave him everything, then erased herself like she was never there.

To Enzo, I’m just Rosie, nothing more than a friend and the Cosa Nostra’s hacker.

I’ve been trying to build up the courage to tell him I love him, but I’ve waited too long.
Because when the enemy comes for the Cosa Nostra, I do what I’ve always done, I protect what’s mine…even if it costs me everything.

Enzo
For years, I told myself Rosie was just a friend. Never mine to want, because I chose our friendship over a truth that would’ve changed everything.

Rosie was my heartbeat and now she’s gone.

But I can’t let go.

I’ll tear this world apart to find her.
Nothing and no one will stand in my way of getting what’s mine, and once I have her in my arms, I will make damn sure everyone knows she belongs to me.

While Saved By A God can be read as an interconnected standalone, reading the other books in the Kings Of Mafia series will give you a better understanding of the world and its characters

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Songlist

Spotify
The Past…

Enzo, 24. Rosie, 20.

With my eyes glued to Enzo, my futile crush of four to five years, I dreamily drink in every glorious inch of him.

God, he looks hot in those faded black jeans and a charcoal shirt with the top three buttons undone.

The rolled-up sleeves allow me to drool over all the corded muscle, visible veins, and tattoos on his forearms.

There are times his black hair, the scruff on his jaw, and light brown eyes with green flecks make him too beautiful to look at.

Sadly, Enzo views me as nothing more than a friend. Or even worse. A little sister.

Eww. Don’t even think that shit.

Even though he sat me down three years ago and told me he’s not interested in a relationship with anyone and that our friendship means too much to him, I still harbor a crush on him.

Remembering the embarrassing day, I scrunch my nose, then let out a sigh.

The stupid crush will probably never go away, which annoys me. I wish I could switch off whatever part of me finds him so damn attractive.

Christiano, Enzo’s older brother and the Capo dei Capi of the Cosa Nostra, is having a birthday party at their parents’ house in Manhattan.

I glance over the people who make up the Cosa Nostra family. Some are standing by the pool while others are gathered near the barbecues.

The soft outdoor lights have turned the backyard into an intimate setting, but I see the guards moving in the shadows.

Dammit, what’s keeping Gianna?

She needs to stop taking her sweet time and get her butt to the party.

We’ve been best friends forever, and since she started dating Riccardo, one of Enzo’s closest friends, the four of us have spent a lot of time together.

Unable to stop myself, I stare at Enzo again, watching him talk to Christiano near the table that’s covered with sodas and a variety of alcohol.

Enzo became his brother’s underboss four years ago and made it look like the easiest job on the planet.

They’re both armed, their guns tucked into the waistbands of their pants. My eyes dart to Georgi, Adriano, and Augusto, the other three capos, and seeing their weapons as well, I let out a sigh.

Right now Dad’s training me to take over as the Cosa Nostra’s hacker and IT expert. I know everything when it comes to computers, but Dad’s giving me time until my twenty-first birthday because he knows the other part of the business bothers me.

With my birthday around the corner, I’ll become the head of my family and the fifth capo in the Cosa Nostra, and the title will come with responsibilities I’m not ready for.

Yeah, I’m good with everything IT-related, but I’m not so sure about going to meetings with other criminal organizations or dealing with our enemies.

I know how to handle a gun, and I’ve had combat training, but it doesn’t mean I like it. Quite the opposite. I’m comfortable with computers, not violence.

Sigh. I’m Dad’s only heir, and Christiano has made it very clear he expects me to fill the position of a capo.

Adriano, who’s ten years my senior and everyone’s big brother, glances at me, and when he comes closer, I grin at him. “Hey, grumpy. Having fun?”

“Hmm…” He drops down beside me on the outdoor sofa, and placing his arm around my shoulders, he tucks me against his side. “You look worried. Tell me what’s wrong so I can fix it.”

I shrug while resting my head on his shoulder. “I’m just nervous about taking over from my dad.”

Adriano presses a kiss to the top of my head. “Why?”

“Because everyone keeps acting like being a capo is no big deal.” I gesture toward the men scattered around the veranda and backyard. “You guys make it look easy.”

When Adriano lets out a soft chuckle, I scowl at him. “I’m serious.” My eyes drift toward Enzo and Christiano again. “I can spend hours in front of a computer without blinking. I can find people, track money, monitor communications, break into systems, and build better security than half the governments in the world.”

“Only half?”

I roll my eyes at him before continuing. “But being a capo isn’t just computers.”

“No, it isn’t,” he agrees.

“It’s being out there that scares me,” I admit, a vulnerable tone to my voice. I pull back so I can look at Adriano, who has a pensive expression on his face. “Every time I leave a damn meeting, I feel sick.”

A love as wild as the ocean can never be tamed.

A desire that burns like fire can never be extinguished.

A broken boy who becomes a monster can never be outrun.

I’ve loved Kat Shaw since I was nine years old.

Loving her was dangerous.

Loving her was wrong.

Loving her was all I ever had.

And then it was ripped away from me.

I was discarded like unwanted trash,

Ruined, shattered, and alone.

But I am no longer that helpless little boy.

Now, I am a man obsessed with getting what’s mine

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PROLOGUE

Katelyn

I taste salt on my tongue, and I can’t tell whether it’s blood, the ocean, or my tears. The wind whips my hair around wildly, and the roar of the surf drowns out my screams. Adrenaline courses through me, and my throat feels like it’s closing up. My nightshirt and silk shorts are saturated with sea spray, dew, and sweat. He stalks me like a ruthless predator, my husband, and my heartbeat thuds against my ribcage in terror of what he’ll do to me once he catches me.

Blindly, I stumble through the pitch-dark dunes in search of a modicum of comfort. The beach where, in my youth, I passed the day idly with Heath is the only spot that brings me a sense of peace. I taste the salt air and hear the waves pound the shore as I draw near, and swallow as I remember the quiet afternoons spent with him here.

“Katelyn!” Eddie’s call tears through my fraudulent sense of calm. “Get back here, you bitch. I’m done playing nice!”

My heart thunders anew. He’s never played nice. He hates me because he knows I don’t love him. Because my heart belongs to another so totally and completely that I’m a slave to that love.

I jump from a dune and land in soft, cold sand below. Eddie will see the white of my pajamas and spot me against the dark horizon of the ocean and night sky. Panic consumes me as I try to make myself small.

“Too late,” he grits as his strong arms come around me.

His body weight slams into me, and he takes me to the ground in one fell swoop. My husband straddles me and yanks my arms above my head. The aggression makes the last button on my night shirt pop, and the fabric falls open to reveal my bare chest. My nipples pucker in reaction to the cool night and ocean breeze.

“You do what I say, or you pay the price of your disobedience,” he spits in my face. His anger is a palpable, red-hot rage that matches the engorged erection in his pajama pants, which he thrusts against my sex. “What happened to my good girl? What happened to my little Kat, who’d do anything for a little bit of love and attention?”

I turn my face away so I don’t have to look at his imposing form. Eddie Lind is beautiful, but I don’t let his looks fool me. He’s a ruthless man who always gets what he wants.

And what he wants is me. Obedient, pliant, always at his beck and call. He wants a woman with a broken spirit and one he can control.

He grabs my chin and forces my face straight so I can’t avoid his eyes. The full moon behind him gives an eerie silver glow to the almost starless night. His hard cock presses into my sex, and I hate myself as I begin to feel the heat rise inside me. Arousal blooms between my legs despite—and perhaps because of—his tyranny and cruelty.

“What a little horny bitch in heat you are, my Kat,” he says smugly.

I want to spit in his face. Head butt him and crack his beautiful and perfect skull, his debonair, aristocratic face, his regal aquiline nose. I want to bite his lips until they bleed a bright crimson and mar his perfect pearly whites. But instead, I bite my tongue, close my eyes, and try to even out my heaving breaths.

Eddie leans down slowly, deliberately, and flicks his wicked tongue over my sensitive straining nipple. Then switches to the other. I flood with humiliation as my panties dampen with my shameful arousal.

He sucks my nipple long and hard, pulling in practically my whole breast while he thumbs the other into a tender, hard bud. I physically bite my tongue in madness. With a mind of their own, my hips press up into his hardness. His long, thick erection twitches in response, and the delicious weight of it hits exactly on my swollen clit.

Then his mouth is on my neck and he devours the flesh there, nipping and sucking, biting, and licking until I’m so wet, my arousal slips down my thighs.

“Beg for it, you little slut. Beg for my cock, and maybe I’ll be nice,” he grits.

I know his games, his dark manipulations. My only recourse is to submit and give him what he wants. My body plays along while my head and heart scream this is all so wrong.

Eddie tears my shorts from my waist and shoves them down my legs before wrenching down his own. His sculpted frame is on full display in the moonlight; he came out here barefoot and without his shirt. Eddie might be a brute, but he looks like an underwear model and has the strength of a marine.

He flips me on my stomach so fast that it practically knocks the wind out of me, and my mouth fills with sand as he presses my face into it. My husband spreads my legs while I try to push up onto my elbows for purchase. One shove to the middle of my back sends me face-first into the sand dune again.
