Before I can second guess myself, I pull him down, and he smirks before he kisses my chin and slowly works his way down to my neck while he slides into me. My breathing halts for a few seconds when he bites my nipple. Once he’s fully seated, I start to move with him, my legs wrapping around his waist and my nails digging hard into his back.

Atlas Hyde fucks me like he does with everything in his life.

With determination, strength, and a passion that is only reserved for things he loves.

Pity I am not one of them.

Chapter Twenty-Five

Theadora

Atlas is asleep, and I am wide awake as he lies next to me on my couch with his arms wrapped around me and our bodies close to one another. We didn’t speak after the fantastic sex, because what is there to say? ‘Thanks for the sex and the mixed feelings you give me, you can leave now.’

Gosh, what have I done?

He moves slightly next to me, and I try to move out of his grip, but he holds me even tighter. Gripping me to him even more as he sleeps.

Atlas is a man who shows next to no emotion. But when you do get a glimpse of those very few other emotions—not the usual anger—you get lost in soaking it all in.

“Atlas,” I say his name, hoping he will wake. I do not plan to lie here, not when all I can think about is what he just did to me and how much I damn well enjoyed it.

His arm that’s wrapped around me has a tattoo of a girl licking a gun. I lift it, but he won’t let me move it.

“I said… I was staying,” he says. “So… I’m staying.”

“I need to move, Atlas. I have to use the bathroom.”

He grumbles something in my hair and lifts his arm reluctantly. Pulling away from him, I stand and head to the bathroom to clean myself up and brush my teeth, then change into an oversized T-shirt before I walk back out. When I do, I find him in the same spot, his eyes are closed, and a soft snoring sound leaves his mouth. I sit on my other couch and tuck my feet under my ass and stare.

“Theadora,” he mumbles. One eye opens, and he jerks his head back for me to come over to him.

“That isn’t a great idea,” I reply. “Maybe I like it better when you get all moody and leave.”

“I don’t do moody,” he declares, turning on his side and rubbing his face. “Fuck, I’m tired.”

“I need a run,” I tell him. He sits up and looks at me. “Go run, I’ll get something for dinner.”

“What if I want you to leave,” I ask, then bite my lip.

Atlas stands, completely naked in front of me, then stretches his hands above his head.

Fuck! That body.

“You don’t want me to leave,” he says, turning and not even bothering to cover himself. His ass is in full view, and I do not care in the least that I am staring. That’s one great ass.

“Run. Go.”

I don’t take orders from any men, but this one is holding my sister hostage, and that gives me no other choice.

But I really do want to run.

Atlas is at my table, and he’s managed to put his jeans back on when I return. I pull my AirPods out and look at my table. There’s food, and lots of it. Guess he wasn’t lying when he said he would arrange for dinner.

“You ordered?” I ask.

Atlas nods and sips whatever drink he has and looks back at his cell phone.

“Shouldn’t you be leaving now? I’m sure one of your illegal jobs requires your assistance.”

“I actually came here to give you yours back,” he says, placing his cell on the table.

“Mine?” I ask, confused.

“Yes. And you can rehire all the staff who were let go. You will get a pay rise above what you should have been paid,” he says.

“Did you negotiate this for me?”

Atlas looks back at the food and picks up a burger as he answers, “No. The business is mine now. You were way underpaid, did you know that?”

“Yes. Yes, I knew.” I take a deep breath before I decide to move the conversation in another direction.

“Atlas?” I ask. He’s mid-bite, so he bites down and starts chewing when he looks up at me while wiping the side of his mouth. “What about my sister?”

“What about her?”

“You still have her. Do you not?”

Atlas puts his burger down and wipes his hand on his jeans. “Come and eat, then we can talk.”

“You will talk?” I ask.

He gestures to the food on the table. “Eat, and yes, I will talk.”

I do as he says and pull out the seat next to him.

“You ran for a good hour. Something on your mind?” he asks, picking up his burger again.
