“What does that mean, Becca?” he says, and I look at him.

“That means I like sex.” I take a drink of wine. “I like having sex. If I want something, I’m not shy about asking for it. Not in the bedroom, not in the kitchen, not in the doorway,” I say, and I see that he is fisting his hand. “I like to give.” I take a sip of wine and look at the side. “But I like to receive even more.” I look at him. “Your turn.”

“Never have I ever fell asleep during sex,” he says, and I laugh, taking the glass of wine and drinking it.

“It was late and …” I start to laugh. “I didn’t really want to, but …”

“Well, one thing is for sure. That isn’t going to happen here,” he says, and his eyes just look into mine. “Trust me, when we are in bed, no one is going to be falling asleep.” I bring the glass to my mouth. “I might fuck you awake, but you’ll never fall asleep.” He shakes his head.

“My turn. Never have I ever had sex with someone I work with.” I don’t move my hand, and neither does he. “So we are both in uncharted territory then.” I grab my wine for liquid courage and finish the glass. The waiter is there right away to refill it. “We’ve known each other a long time, Nico,” I say. “Why now?”

He takes his drink of scotch, and I have to say he looks just as nervous as I am with asking the questions. “I’m never going to bullshit you,” he says, and I lean back in the chair. “I have no fucking idea why now.” I lean forward, knowing I need some wine. “I don’t know what did it. I can’t pinpoint exactly when it happened, but it was like a switch.” I know exactly what he means. “I look at you, and it was like what the fuck just happened.”

“Like everything was clear now,” I say, and he points at me.

“Yes.” I look around. “Stay with me,” he says. “Tonight.”

“Where’s Lizzie?” I ask, knowing she is also here for work.

“She is staying with a friend,” he says. “Besides, she has her own room.” I look at him, and I don’t know what it is, but with him, I want to jump off the fucking cliff. With the water crashing against the rock, the sounds of thunder coming, I want to jump with him. “So what’s it going to be, Becca?” I take the last sip of wine I will for the night. It’s more than my two glasses. “Come back to my room with me.”

I don’t know what the right thing to do is. I have no idea what tomorrow is going to hold. I don’t know if I’m going to wake up and regret it. What I do know is that if I don’t do it, I’ll regret that. I push away from the table. He just looks at me, not sure what is going on. I hold out my hand to him. “Are we going?”

Chapter 14

Nico

She holds out her hand for me. “Are we going?” I want to grab her hand and yank her out of there. My cock has been as hard as a rock ever since she told me she isn’t wearing anything under that fucking dress.

When she opened the door to her suite, I took one look at her, and the only thing I could focus on was her eyes and the way they lit up. Then I saw her thigh-high boots, and I knew that if she spent the night with me, I’d be fucking her wearing only those fucking boots.

“What are you waiting for?” she asks, tilting her head to the side.

“I want you more than I’ve wanted anything in a long fucking time,” I say, and her hand never moves. “But I’m not going to be going in the category of a bad decision.”

“What category do you want to be in?” she asks, and I can see the wheels turning in her head.

“Fuck if I know,” I say honestly. “But I do know that I don’t want to be in the category of a bad decision.” I lean back in the chair. “I don’t think I’m cool enough to hang with the boss hat.” Her head goes back, and she laughs.

“You are definitely not as cool as the hat,” she says, and her hand falls. I want to jump up from my seat and pick it back up. “How about being in a one-of-a-kind category?” she says, and I just look at her.

“I am one of a kind,” I say, standing. “I can totally do that category. But,” I say, stepping to her, “I’d rather be in the category of he fucked my brains out all night long.” I lean my head in, tilting it to the side. “Do you have that category?”
