“That’s great, I mean not that he’s moving away but that he’s taking the steps to make things right,” she’s not wrong, given the amount of chaos he’s left in his wake I figure it’ll be awhile before any of us actually believe him, the proof will be in his actions and his behavior.

“Yeah, it is. I only hope Raquel has a smooth pregnancy and Wes doesn’t add to any stress as it is,” I remember when Wes’ss mom was pregnant, the doctor telling us both she’ll need to steer clear of any added pressure.

“Have you met Raquel? That woman has her shit together and won’t take anything lying down. Which means Wes better watch his back if he screws up, he won’t have only Raquel to worry about, he’ll have her sister as well,” Josie’s head tips up, giving me her sweet smile.

“Fuck, that’s true. Alright enough of this conversation. I’ve got something I’ve been needing to tell you and now is as good as time as any Josie,” my thumb brushes along her cheek, fingers on her neck, holding her in place as I say, “I love you, babe, a whole fucking lot. Life might be hard, but with you by my side, it’s a hundred times better.” I’ve got a lot to say to Josie, and I’m going to do so, starting now and forever more.

“Trace,” she sighs, soft and sweet, rising up on the tips of her toes. “I love you, too.” I growl low in my throat as I pull her in closer, head dipping lower, my mouth going straight to hers. I want her lips, and I’m damn sure going to finish what we started.

EPILOGUE

TWO YEARS LATER

Josie

I know what I’m doing. Trace is in the backyard working on a light that wasn’t shining on the trees how he wanted. It also happens to be our one-year wedding anniversary. The night was spent at Cooper’s steakhouse. We both wanted something lowkey after last weekend, when Wes and Raquel’s son, Ryan, had his birthday party. Since they moved three hours north, it meant spending the weekend away. We did a few things while we were out of town, staying longer, enjoying the view of mountains in our rented small lakeside cabin. A lot has changed throughout the years. Wes and Raquel are crushing being parents, together and on their own. It tore Wes up when Raquel got serious with her now husband. He was worried that Ryan would forget him and all the time and effort he put into fixing himself would be forgotten. Obviously, that’s not the case, and he's since found a woman willing to put up with him. Joking, seriously. Wes really is so much better than he once was, and he’s a kickass dad. His wife, Michelle, is pretty badass herself. Between Michelle and Raquel, they give Wes a run for his money, relentlessly teasing him. It works for them, and I’m glad nothing is awkward between all of us.

I’m standing in front of the window, opening the curtain. The light in the room is giving off the perfect reflection as I slowly slip out of my dress, arching my body as I do, my eyes downcast, looking out to where Trace is currently kneeling on the ground, abandoning what he was doing and taking in the show. You see, it wasn’t long ago that my husband was in his truck, keeping a watchful eye on me without my knowledge. My curtains weren’t hung yet, and let’s just say, Trace had no problem jacking his cock while watching my undress, much like he is now. The black bodycon-style dress hits the floor, and my hand slides between my breasts to flick open the front closure of my bra. If it weren’t for the fact that the dress I was wearing is tight, I’d have gone without the annoying thing. I knew Trace would have grumbled and groaned should my nipples decide to make their presence known. Even though he would be the culprit, sliding his hand between my legs throughout dinner, holding it there as his fingers slowly swept along my skin. The final piece of clothing is my black thong. I turn around, ass to the window, peeling the fabric down my body as I bend over, clearing it from my ankles, and then the show is over, but the night is only beginning.

I walk away, leaving the curtains and blinds open, turning off the lights as I go before sliding beneath the sheets, waiting for Trace to come inside. It’s our anniversary, and I’ve got the biggest and best surprise of them all.

Trace

Mouth watering, cock thickening, hands quickening their pace as I wrap up the light I’m working on. My wife is a smoke show. I knew locking Josie down in a small but intimate wedding was happening. Getting her to figure out a date, time, and setting, well, that took too damn long. I was ready to whisk her away and elope to a courthouse, Vegas wedding chapel, or an all-inclusive resort specializing in destination weddings. Any would have worked if she didn’t finally get shit put together. Josie, Gia, my mom, and her mom did, almost a fucking year later. After Raquel had my grandson, Ryan, and he was able to take part as a ring bearer. My woman thought of it all.
