Definitely not a good idea. “I don’t think we’ll be able to make it today,” I tell Hunter. “Maybe we can get together this weekend instead?”

“But.” My niece starts to argue until her husband puts a hand on her arm to stop her.

“I think what your uncle is trying to say is that your little cousin is making Tabitha sick.”

“Cousin?” Hunter glances over between Tabby and me several times before she growls at my wife, “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Please don’t be mad,” Tabitha begs. “I wanted to tell Marco first.”

“I’m not mad at you,” Hunter huffs before giving my wife a big smile. “But I can’t believe I didn’t figure it out before now. I guess my little one is already turning my brain to mush, too.”

“What?” Brendan nearly jumps out of the limousine seat. “What little one?” His face suddenly looks as green as Tabitha’s. “Why didn’t you tell me?” He turns to my niece and pulls her into his arms.

“I wanted to surprise you.” Hunter shrugs. “Surprise.” She throws her hands up into the air.

“We’re going to have a talk about your sense of timing on surprises,” Brendan growls.

“I can’t wait for our,” my niece turns to her husband and makes quote signs with her fingers, “talk.” I turn to my wife, trying to zone out their conversation. “Your idea of talking is what got us into this situation in the first place.”

“We’ll talk,” Brendan makes the same quote sign, “when we get home.”

We drop them off on our way back to the compound, and Tabby snuggles against my side for the rest of the ride home. Thankfully, the ride from their house to ours is long enough for me to forget the entire topic of my pregnant niece. Even though she’s been married for years and has twins, I don’t want to think about Hunter actually having a sex life.

We head straight to our bedroom once we get home. “I love you, Mrs. Dean.” I reach down and run my hand over Tabitha’s tummy. It might make me a male chauvinist pig, but I love the idea of my child growing deep inside her belly. “And I love this little one, too.”

“I love you, too. Please tell your child to take it easy on me,” my wife groans. “This is going to be a long freaking pregnancy if I continue puking five times a day.”

I drop to my knees in front of her and lean over to place my lips next to her soft belly. “Hey, little one. This is your dad. We need to have a talk about your tendency to make your mom puke. Why don’t you take it easy on her and I’ll buy you a Porsche for your sixteenth birthday?”

“What?” My wife hops back a step. “You can’t promise our child a sports car,” she insists, so I shrug and lean close to her belly.

“I guess I’ll have to give you a van instead since Mom doesn’t like the idea of a sports car,” I tease.

“A freaking van?” Tabitha looks confused. “Have you lost your mind?”

“No.” I laugh. “What teenage boy wouldn’t enjoy owning a personal love wagon?” I can tell my wife was never around boys much since I have to explain this to her.

“Love wagon? Now, I know you’re pulling my leg.” Tabitha shakes her head before rolling her eyes. “You’re too much, but I love you.”

“Nothing is ever too much for you. You deserve everything.” I stare into her eyes. “I love you to the moon and back.” I stand and pull my wife into my arms before setting out to show her just how much she means to me.

That night, I lie wide awake staring at the ceiling, reflecting on my good fortune. I’m the luckiest son-of-a-bitch to ever live. I not only found my soulmate, but now I get to have all her private strip shows. For the rest of our lives. Life couldn’t get any better.
