It’s Brock.

He steps forward, his eyes wide and his breathing slightly heavy. “Sunshine?”

“Y-Yes?” I ask, my response barely above a whisper.

He takes another step toward me, now close enough I could rest my hand on his bare chest. “I’m going to ask you a question, and I need you to be completely honest with me. Okay?”

I nod, unable to speak words.

Brock draws his hand lightly up my arm, leaving a trail of goose bumps in its wake. When he reaches my shoulder, he moves once more, our bodies now dangerously close. He bends down and runs his nose from my shoulder to my neck, inhaling softly as he goes. I almost groan as my head tilts to the side ever so slightly, giving him access for whatever he has in mind next.

He steps forward again, his hard body now pressed against mine, as he wraps his big hand around my waist, his fingers angled down to cover part of my ass. He tips his head back and meets my burning gaze with one of his own, and only then does he ask his question. “Were you touching yourself in there?”

My eyes widen as embarrassment sweeps in. He heard me? Oh my God, this can’t be happening. I drop my gaze, praying the carpet opens up and swallows me whole right about now.

His other hand moves to my neck and slowly grazes up until he cups my cheek. “Please look at me. The thought of you in that room, in your bed, touching yourself has me so fucking hard I can’t think straight.” He takes a deep breath. “So tell me, Sunshine, were you touching yourself?”

Meeting his gaze head-on, I lift my chin and whisper, “Yes.”

His blue eyes darken even further until they’re a deep navy. “You moaned my name. Were you thinking about me?”

“Yes,” I reply right away.

A throaty moan rips from his throat as he closes his eyes. It’s almost as if the confirmation was too much. “I can picture it.” When they reopen, they burn with an intensity I’m unaccustomed to. “I’m going to picture it for the rest of my life,” he adds with a hint of satisfaction in his voice.

Before I can reply, he releases the hold on my jaw and my hip and takes a small step back. I feel the void of his body immediately and almost reach out for him, but Brock retreats more. Glancing down, there’s no missing his erection. It tents his shorts dramatically and makes my mouth water.

“Goodnight, Sunshine.”

Confusion replaces the desire I felt just moments ago. “Goodnight?”

Nodding, he reaches forward and places a strand of hair behind my ear. “For tonight, yes. When I take you to my bed, I’ll need time to savor you, because when we’re finally together, you’ll be screaming my name all night long, Sunshine. All. Fucking. Night. Long.”

His words cause a shiver to sweep through my veins.

I step back, ready to return to my room, when he speaks once more. “Oh, and, Joey?”

I look up and meet his gaze.

Brock reaches for my hand, the one I had used to pleasure myself and have yet to wash. He holds my two fingers, brings them to his mouth, and wraps his lips around them. My body practically detonates all over again as he lightly sucks.

He finally releases them with a pop, a wolfish grin spreading across his face. “Now you can go to bed.”

I mumble something incoherent and reach for my door, closing it with a definitive click that cuts me off from Brock. I go ahead and lock it for good measure too. I’m afraid, if I don’t, I’ll be back in the hallway within seconds, sneaking into his room and discovering exactly what it’s like to be worshipped by Brock Williams.

Something tells me I’d never be the same afterward.

But deep down, I know he’s right. As much as I’d love to climb into his bed and ride him like an eight-second prized bull, we’re not there yet. I’ve never jumped into someone’s bed without at least dinner first. Hell, I’ve always considered myself dating that individual. But I’m not dating Brock.

Not even close.

Sure, there’s this undeniable sexual tension that surrounds us every time we’re near, but that doesn’t equal a relationship.

So where do we go from here?

He doesn’t seem to want a quick fling, which honestly, surprises me a little. Everything I’ve read, everything I’ve heard has talked about his playboy ways and the trail of broken hearts he leaves in his wake. That might actually be a good sign. Perhaps we’ll be able to explore this crazy chemistry, while getting to know each other better outside of the bedroom first.

Is Brock capable of a relationship?

Am I willing to blur the boundaries of getting physical with him if he’s not?

I guess time will tell.

Grabbing my book, I slip outside and head for the pool. I’m not much of a sun person, but a little color on my pasty legs wouldn’t hurt any.
