I didn’t get the chance to finish what I was saying. Declan gripped the nape of my neck and jerked me forward to crush his mouth against mine in a hard, demanding kiss that nearly knocked a sob of relief from my chest.

He jumped away a second later to check that the painting hadn’t been hurt in the kiss and then smirked at me. “Yes. To all of that. Yes. I love you. I love Joy. We must be a family.”

Carefully, he took the painting from my trembling fingers and picked up the other two. He set them aside and turned to my side. Pulling me in close with his amazing arms, he kissed up my throat and down my jaw, whispering again and again that he loved me and that he loved Joy. I hugged him back, feeling like I’d found where I belonged.

I was home.

EPILOGUE

DECLAN FOSTER

“Fuck. Declan. Don’t tease me with it,” Parker panted, his fists twisted in the sheets. “Get in there. Fucking break me.”

“I think I like you like this,” I replied between clenched teeth as I pushed just the head into his hole, taunting him with a taste of what was to come.

For the past hour, I’d licked, sucked, and stretched his body, leaving him covered in a sheen of sweat as he trembled beneath me. Desperation and need made his pale-gray eyes bright. His cock was rock hard and drooling onto his stomach. With his left leg half draped over my shoulder, I pushed it toward his chest, opening him up farther so I could slide a bit deeper.

“Like what?” Parker whimpered.

“Desperate.”

“Painfully desperate,” he corrected.

“And in our bed,” I finished.

After the delicious dinner Parker made, I’d helped him to gather up the beautiful paintings he created, along with a bag of his clothes and some of Joy’s. We’d picked up Joy on the way to my house. I’d brought my family home. Joy was sleeping in her bed, and I had Parker in our bed. Where he belonged.

“Yes,” Parker hissed. He dug his head into the mattress and tried to lift his hips to take more of me, but I kept one hand on his hip, holding him down.

“Are you ever going to leave this bed again?”

“No!”

As soon as he answered, I plunged in him, filling his body so that the single word transformed into a long, howling moan that bounced off the walls. Parker’s eyes squeezed shut and a look of ecstasy filled his tense face. The heat of him and the tight hold of his muscles was exquisite. I almost lost myself on that first thrust. Now that I’d finally given in, there was no more holding back. My control was hanging on by a fraying thread. I continued to pound deep inside him, the slap of sweaty skin rising above the squeak of the bed.

“Are you going to let anyone else fuck you like this?” I growled.

Parker’s eyes snapped open and were shining brightly while a wide grin spread across his lips. “Never! Only you.”

“Are you going to leave me again?”

“No! Never! I love you, baby. Love you…so much.” As I moved, “love you” became a chant that urged me on. His words became a balm for old wounds and brushed away lingering fears that I wasn’t enough for him.

I released Parker’s hip and wrapped my hand around his cock, stroking him in time with my thrusts, tipping him over the edge. His cries pulled me along with him and I came so hard in his tight ass. When I collapsed on top of him, I wrapped Parker up in my arms and rolled him onto his side so that we became a tangle of limbs and shattered breathing. I kissed his shoulder and nuzzled his neck, wanting to soak all of him in.

After a moment, Parker’s arms tightened on me, and I felt his lips brush across my temple. “I’m sorry, Declan. I’m so sorry.”

That was not what I’d expected or even wanted to hear from him. I loosened my hold on Parker enough to scoot so I could peer into his worried eyes.

“What are you apologizing for? There’s nothing you should feel sorry about.”

“I hurt you. I never wanted to hurt you. But—”

I tipped my head up and captured his mouth in a kiss, stopping his words. Only when he relaxed and returned the kiss did I release him.

“You don’t need to apologize,” I murmured. I dragged my lips along his jaw to nuzzle his neck. “I appreciate it. Truly. But I don’t want you to feel bad for needing time to figure things out. Too much happened, and I should have given you more space to decide what you wanted in life ahead of pulling you in a new direction. It wasn’t fair of me.”

“But I liked the direction you pulled me in. It was a direction I had wanted months ago.”
