We’d even started doing some live shows, which was a different animal all together, but a lot of fun, not to mention—lucrative. We’d saved enough to buy a used car, which I’d need soon. I was only a month away from graduation, and then I’d start the job I’d lined up as a budget analyst for a firm downtown.

Colin frowned at how I’d turned down his offer of joining him. “I don’t mind if you can’t keep your hands off me.”

I pointed to the shower. “You’re wasting hot water.”

He stepped in and pulled the glass door closed. I lingered, leaning against the sink as I watched the water sluice down his perfect body. That hadn’t changed since I’d met him on that muddy field seven months ago, but practically everything else had. He wasn’t a frat boy anymore, even though a small part of me would probably always think of him that way.

I’d changed, too, and it was all for the better. My narrow view of love had broadened into something deeper. More amazing, and exciting, and fulfilling. Just thinking about it started a fire in my heart, and a need that was suddenly too powerful to resist.

I whipped off my tank top and hurried out of my shorts, getting naked as fast as possible. Then I launched forward, pulling open the shower door and startling the shit out of him.

“I want to kiss you,” I said.

He was covered in shampoo and wiped the sudsy foam from his eyes, staring at me in disbelief. “Now?”

“Yes, now,” I said breathlessly. “Always.”
