“Whatever. Help me find Emma. I want to talk to her,” I explain.
“I’ll check the cafeteria, you take the library,” my twin offers.
I nod, and we part ways. I speed walk to the library, ignoring some guy who greets me on the way. I enter the library and scan the large space. My whole body is tense, and my mind is still clouded in anger.
It’s not until I spot Emma sitting at one of the tables that my fury simmers down just a tad. I suck in a deep breath and walk over. As I approach, her head snaps up from her book, and her eyes find mine.
I don’t know how I expected her to react to me, but I’m surprised by the anger I see in her gaze. “What do you want?” She snaps when I take the seat next to her. She gathers her papers like she is scared I’m taking them away from her or something.
“I want you to promise me you won’t make a statement against me and my brother,” I say in a low but demanding voice.
“And why would I do that?”
“Because Brody deserves to go to jail—”
“So do you! Matter of fact, if you were in jail, I could actually enjoy my college experience.”
“Oh, really? For making your life so miserable, you came pretty hard on my cock yesterday,” I say, a little louder than I should.
“Shhhh!” She hushes me angrily. Her cheeks turn an adorable hue of red, and it reminds me of the color of her pussy. For the first time today, the corner of my lips twitch up. “Can you keep your voice down, especially when you talk about me like that?”
“Are you embarrassed about liking me fucking you so much?”
“I’m embarrassed I let it happen at all!”
Ouch. That one stings, but I hide it with a grin. “I bet you can’t wait for it to happen again.”
“Dream on. Yesterday was a one-time thing. It won’t happen again.”
“We’ll see about that.” I will have her again, and she will like it just as she did last night.
“Is that what yesterday was about? You wanted to get on my good side, so I won’t testify? Nice try, but I’m not stupid.” She turns away from me and gets ready to get up, but I grab her shoulder and hold her in place.
“We’re not done here, and last night was not about Brody.”
She twists her head to look at me again. “Let go,” she says through clenched teeth.
I ignore her and keep my hold on her shoulder. “Not until you listen.”
“There is nothing you can say that will change my mind. Nothing has changed between us. We’re not friends, and I’m not going to lie for you.”
“Nothing has changed?” I scoff. Maybe not for her. For me, everything has changed.
“You are hurting me,” she grits out, shoving my arm away.
I loosen my grip on her shoulder, but I’m not ready to let her go completely. She is a fucking flight risk, after all.
“Stop trying to get away, and I won’t have to hold you so hard.”
“Maybe that was Brody’s excuse when he put bruises on your sister.”
A surge of anger rushes through and when I speak next, my tone is more menacing than I want it to be. “Don’t compare me to that fucker. I’m nothing like him. I would never hurt you like that.”
“Right, you just hurt me in ways you approve of,” she throws in my face without blinking.
“You’re infuriating.” But not wrong, according to the pang of guilt in my chest. We have hurt her before and maybe I should apologize to her, but when I look at her staring me down, all I want to do is put her across my knees and spank her ass red for not listening to me.
Emma huffs out a breath before leaning back in her seat. Her eyes somber and her face relaxes. “Why can’t you just leave me alone?”
That’s the real question, isn’t it?
I give her the most honest answer I can. “I don’t know why, but you belong to us now.”
“I belong to no one.”
I force a smile on my lips before leaning into her. I’m close enough for my breath to fan across her skin when I say, “Keep talking, and I’ll remind you who you belong to right here, where everyone can see.”
Her breath hitches and her shoulder goes stiff again. I run my hand across her shoulder until my fingers wrap around her slender throat. I can feel her pulse quicken under my now gentle touch.
She remains completely still as I brush my lips over her cheek, peppering kisses over her face and jawline.
“Stop,” she whispers breathlessly.
I ignore her half-hearted plea and press my lips to hers. Her mouth opens almost immediately, inviting me in to taste her. I let my tongue slip past her lips, where I meet hers in a passionate dance.
