“I don’t want to!” Seline gasped, trying again to get away from him. “Let me go!”

“No, I don’t think so. I think you like the struggle. You like it when a real man takes you in hand!” The bald man laughed, a grating sound which got on Seline’s nerves like fingernails on a black board. “Come on—let’s see how you liked getting whipped.”

A vivid image flashed through Seline’s mind—a picture of herself, tied up naked against a cross just like this one as someone whipped her—someone who looked a lot like the bald man who had grabbed her. And then a whip—a whip tipped with fire, she remembered—falling again and again, stinging her naked flesh, making her scream and cry as she tried to bear it and prayed for Nox to come rescue her…

Nox! If only he was here now! Her Protector would put an end to this in a heartbeat—and he would put the horrible bald Dom in his place, too.

Lendrex, whispered a voice in her head. His name was Master Lendrex! That was the one who whipped you!

But she didn’t know anyone named Master Lendrex—did she?

Seline couldn’t remember anymore—everything seemed to be running together in her head and though she tried to cry out for help, her voice seemed to be stuck in her throat.

She was in trouble here—so much trouble. And there was no one coming to save her, because Nox didn’t even know she was here! Why had she come by herself—why hadn’t she at least told somewhere where she was going? She had let the ache between her thighs—the need to be filled—draw her into a net of danger.

Seline didn’t know what she was going to do, but now it seemed she would pay the price for allowing her sexual need to guide her…

FIFTY-THREE

NOX

Just as Nox finished landing his ship, a little pink bird-like creature flew out from behind one of the bulkheads where it must have been hiding. After a moment, Nox recognized it as a flur’fa—a creature from As’fodan Four, though they were also commonly seen at space stations since their eggs made a tasty snack. But how had one gotten into his ship?

“What in the Seven Hells are you doing here?” he growled at it. “Go on—get away!”

He tried to shoo the little creature away but it kept coming back, flying around his head and crying,

“Peep-a-cheek! Peep-a-cheek!” in a thin, shrill voice that Nox felt like he had heard somewhere before. In fact, the creature itself seemed familiar—like something he had seen once in a dream. But why was it bothering him now and where had it come from?

Deciding he didn’t have time to deal with the little creature, Nox opened the door of his ship—which he had landed in an empty parking lot across from The Whip club. To his relief, the small pink flur’fa flew out and he was quick to shut the door behind it.

It circled around his head once and then headed in the direction of the club. Nox headed there as well, though it was a large structure he had no idea where Seline might be inside it. Still, he had a plan—he would smell her out. Her sweet, feminine fragrance was permanently burned into his brain—he was sure he could find her by tracking her scent.

He felt irritation that verged on anger as he surveyed the club before him. On the flight down to Earth he had done a quick research scan so he now knew what The Whip was all about. It was a club for humans who participated in “The Lifestyle”—meaning they were all into various forms of BDSM or “kink.”

Why had Seline decided to come to a place like this on her own, when it was clearly a playground for sexual sadists? Was her need to explore the “kinky” part of her nature so strong she would put herself in danger? Nox didn’t know but he was going to get some answers as soon as he found her.

He strode across the street and was stopped by a Bouncer at the door. He was big—as humans go—though not nearly as tall or as muscular as Nox.

“Hey, we’re full—no more allowed in,” he said, puffing his chest out importantly. “Come back during our next open house and come earlier next time—we fill up quick.”

“Listen to me…” Nox gripped the front of the human’s shirt and twisted it in his metal fist, bringing the other male’s face close to his own.

“Wh-what?” the Bouncer gasped.

“My female is in your little ‘club’ and she is in trouble,” Nox growled at him. “You will let me in or I will break both your arms and your legs. Do I make myself understood?”

“Oh, uh…” The Bouncer’s face, formerly a ruddy red, suddenly turned as pale as cottage cheese. “I g-guess we have r-room for one m-more.”
