Chapter 1

“Take my dick, Kennedy. Take it,” I groan as I thrust in and out of my wife’s tight already bred cunt.

“I am, babe,” she gasps, moving with me. She touches my cheek, getting my attention, and I look down into her eyes. She has a concerned look on her face that makes me frown. She smiles and I feel okay, not great, again. I have to be inside of her all the time these days. Since the store was vandalized, I've barely slept. We still don't know who did this or why they did it and it's eating me up every second of every day since then. If I can't protect the woman I was meant to, what the hell am I good for? Her hand is still on my cheek and she's stopped moving.

"What's wrong? Am I hurting you?" I ask, slowing the pace at which I am brutally fucking her.

"Come back to me," she says softly.

"I'm right here," I say confused.

"Your body is, but you're not. Come back to me."

"I'm right here," I repeat dumbly because I don't know what to say. She’s not wrong, but I definitely want her. I need her. I crave her on a level that can’t be entirely right, but I don’t care. My obsession is real and for the most part, I can control it.

"You're not Silver. Your mind is somewhere else. If I didn't know you better, I'd think you were thinking about another woman."

And…. There goes my hard-on.

"What?" I ask, incredulously. As if any other woman exists like this for me. No woman holds a fucking candle to her, and I tell her every day something to that effect.

"I said if I didn't know you better. Everything is going to be okay. I promise."

"You can't know that, Ken." I move off of her and lay down beside her, my head on her chest.

"You're right but I can’t live my life in what-ifs."

"Logically, I know you're right, but what would I do if something happened to you? I can't live without you. I love you so fucking much."

"I can't live without you either and I love you more than life itself, but I refuse to let whoever did this to us win. I can't stay inside this house forever. I want to work. I like it. It keeps me sane. Besides, none of the guys are letting any of us work in town despite the improvements to the store. I think I can handle going to the back forty and working in the makeshift studio. The queen of Raultshire ordered a whole new handmade wardrobe. Migan is seriously losing her shit. It's all hands on deck with the sewing. I can't leave everyone high and dry. You're not saying anything," she says before taking a deep breath.

"You wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise, but you're right I can handle the makeshift studio," I say, chuckling.

Though calling the workspace we threw together a studio is being highly generous. We just went to Home Depot and bought one of those prefabricated sheds, the large two-room one with a porch, and rigged it up for electricity so it can be heated. We also got a few design tables from IKEA and they've gone to town getting their orders done, except Ken. I put my foot down but I see now that was wrong. She's right, it's not fair. The guys and I fixed up the store with Ham and Erik's help and upgraded it with security cameras and motion Sensors but not one of us felt it was enough nor did Migan want to leave her designs there anymore, so the makeshift studio came into effect. This way they are on the compound and one of us or our Dad is here at all times with them. I can't speak for the other guys one hundred percent, but Ken's safety is paramount, and I am sure it's the same for my brother's and Torran as well.

I kiss her chest, just above her heart, I move over her again. Kissing her deeply, I savor her. She is the other half of my soul. She moans under me and my dick rages back to life.

“Hey, I love you,” she says as I slide back into her.

“I love you too, Ken.”

For the rest of the night, we make love. Over and over, I take her, just to prove that she’s safe and that she’s mine. I am a lucky man. I get to be the one to love her, to care for her, and protect her.

A lucky man indeed.

Chapter 2

My husband is so damn crazy. If it weren’t so hot, I would be scared. It has been weeks since I have been out of the house without an escort… meaning him. The incident at the shop rattled all of us, but he seems to be the one who has been the slowest to recover. It has been so bad that we have been arguing a lot and that is something we never do. Usually, he tries laying down the law, I lay it on him, and then he gives me what I want. But after this, my man is all steel.
