I laugh at his frenzy of affection, receiving it all. “I love you, Rafe. I love you, I love you, I love you.”

“I’m sorry, I sort of lost control there at the end. Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”

I laugh. “It was amazing.”

He settles in the cradle of my legs. “Well, there’s more where that came from, princess.” And unbelievably, I find he’s hard already, his cock prodding my entrance. I wrap my legs around his back and hook my ankles, pulling him against me, so he sinks into me.

I’m sore, but I want more. Everything Rafe has to offer, I want to receive.

Rafe

I make Adele come three more times before I hear her stomach rumble and realize it’s long past dinner time.

“You’re hungry,” I groan, pissed at myself for not seeing to my mate’s needs. I climb off the bed and get a washcloth to clean her.

“I’ll bet you are, too. Now I know why you were such a pain in my ass over the meat thing. Wolves are definitely carnivores.”

I stroke between her legs with the warm washcloth, even though I’d rather leave her covered in my cum. She’s marked forever now, though. No need to stake my claim again.

“No, I was a pain in the ass because being around you drove my wolf wild, and I was pissed that I didn’t think I could have you. I would give anything to have a do-over and sit and eat your red beans and win your affection with my praise, like Channing did.”

“Channing,” she says with a laugh. “You were actually jealous of Channing, weren’t you?”

“Don’t even talk about it,” I warn. I’m not still threatened, not really, but the memory still chafes.

“Come on. Isn’t he, like, barely over twenty?”

“Women find him attractive.”

Adele laughs and climbs off the bed, wrapping her arms around my waist and pressing her soft body against mine. “You’re being ridiculous. You know that, right?”

“Yes,” I grumble. “I do know.” I wrap my hand around the back of her head to lift her face to mine. I stroke her soft brown skin with my thumb. “Forgive me. Not having you made me crazy.”

She lifts on her toes and gives me a soft kiss. The kind that starts with her lips moving against mine, then deepens into something more. My tongue sweeps between her lips, my hand drops to her ass and squeezes.

I hear her stomach rumble again. “Sorry!” I spring back. “I’m sorry, you’re hungry. I just can’t get enough of you.”

“Let’s go see if I can find you some meat,” she says with a laugh, pulling one of my t-shirts out of a drawer and putting it on.

“Um, not like that.”

She rolls her eyes.

“Have you seen your legs, princess? You slay with those legs. Here, put these on.” I toss her a pair of my sweats, which she tugs on and rolls down several times at the waist.

“Not really my style, but I’ll make an exception for you.”

I swat her ass as she sashays past me and down the stairs to the kitchen, where she starts her magic.

Twenty minutes later, she’s made a full meal out of leftover pork she found in the freezer from the pig roast. She uncorks a bottle of white wine and pours us both a glass. I dig out emergency candles and light them, arranging them in the middle of the table.

The guys must not be around, or the scent of the food would have brought them running. Maybe they gave us space for her claiming.

We sit down at the table, just the two of us. She lifts her glass of wine. Her skin glows in the candlelight, her gaze is only for me, her smile warm and inviting.

Mine. My wolf is smug.

“To us,” Adele says.

I clink her glass with mine. “To you, Adele. You’re my everything.”

Taos is so festive during the holiday season. I hadn't appreciated the decorations as much in the past weeks, but now walking past the plaza, holding Rafe's hand, I appreciate the Christmas Card-worthy beauty of my town more and more.

“So what are we doing here?” I ask him. “Don't tell me that you need to go last minute Christmas shopping.”

“Nope, already made ‘em. Everyone’s getting their very own trash can art sculpture.”

I roll my eyes and Rafe chuckles. He’s been doing that more–laughing and smiling. The other night Channing made a dumb joke, and Rafe didn’t even glare at him.

“Well what are we doing here? I've got to get back to the house.” I'm prepping for tomorrow, when I’ll be cooking Christmas dinner for everyone at the lodge. It'll be all of us except for Tabitha, who left to go antiquing the same day Dieter kidnapped me. We're hoping to video chat with her later.

“I'm giving you your gift.”

“But it's not yet Christmas,” I protest, even though the pack’s celebrating Christmas four days early so Lance and Charlie can head to her parents.
