“Hey, Beast. The coast is clear. There hasn’t been anyone around here lurking,” I heard another man’s voice say.

“Thank you. Get some sleep,” he tells some guy in a leather jacket that says something “Riders,” but I’m too groggy to make it all out.

He opens the back door and Bee climbs out first, taking my hand to help me out. Once we climb the stairs, Beast unlocks the door and lets us in.

“Please be quiet. There’s a guest bedroom down the hall. I can set up the couch if you’d like or you can share the large bed.”

“We’ve shared a bed before. We’re too tired to care right now,” I mutter. Frankly, I’m about to camp out on the floor because I’m so damn tired.

“Will?” a soft voice calls out from the stairs.

“Mary, you’re supposed to be sleeping, sweetheart.”

“The baby was up.”

“I’m sorry.” He walks over to a gorgeous woman with long black hair and pulls her into his arms and kisses her deeply. “I missed you.”

“I missed you too.”

He brings her over to us and says, “This is Ms. Cole and her cousin, Bee.”

“Thank you for letting us stay, although it was apparently news to you,” I say.

“Yeah, well, that’s how I met my husband.” She squeezes her arms around his waist.

“Wait, are there any more single ones like them?” Bee asks.

“There are a couple of prospects, and then there’s Cyber.”

“Cyber?” I ask.

“He’s our tech guy, but he’s pretty much spoken for already,” Beast says.

“Oh, really? Bummer,” Bee says, pouting, but I just shake my head at her.

“Don’t mind her. She’s crazy. We’ve had an insane day, and I’m more than tired, as I’m sure you all are. Thank you for your generous hospitality.”

“Please let me show you to the bedroom,” she says.

“Okay.” We both head into the bedroom, and I slip off my jacket and shoes, preferring to keep my clothes as pajamas for the night. It’s fine until something gives. I only have about thirty bucks in cash. The cops reminded me that using my card can leave transaction breadcrumbs.

“Do you want something to sleep in?”

“That would be great. We don’t have anything. We had to leave with the clothes on our backs. In fact, what’s going to happen to the clothes we left at the hospital?”

“Doc will bring them back tomorrow.”

“Okay. At least we’ll have something else to wear.” She gives us a nightgown each and we change quickly, falling asleep as soon as we’re changed.

Chapter Five

Cyber

The only footage I was able to score was from the lobby—the same footage the cops had of my encounter with Andrea. I try to fight the arousal seeing her again brings and focus on finding that piece of shit.

After hours of scrolling through footage of the lobby, I haven’t found anyone who looked like the asshole I saw sitting ten seats away from me that wanted his block knocked off. If he was there, he stayed out of the camera’s frame. My eyes are already crossing, so I close my laptop and stand up, needing to stretch and grab a cup of coffee. I don’t have much more in me before I’ll completely crash.

Stopping in the lounge for a quick cup of vending machine coffee, I sweeten it and then nearly collide with a doctor. “Excuse me.”

“My bad.”

“It’s okay.”

As I walk over to my computer, fatigue hits me full force. I really need a nap. I open my laptop and type in my password, but the screen blurs. Shit. Closing my laptop, I stuff it into its case. Tossing the shit coffee into the trash, I decide to walk to the ICU recovery area and check on the family. That is where I find Grace standing by the door.

“How are you doing?” I ask her, putting my arm over her shoulder a bit for comfort and a bit for support.

“I’m used to this thing, but it’s harder when it’s family. I remember watching Rico, so it’s hard to see Asher like that. Still, he’ll be okay in time. Now, you need to get some sleep. You look tired as hell.”

“I shouldn’t have stayed up late yesterday. I’m running on three hours of sleep in the past forty-eight hours, and it’s hitting me like a ton of bricks at the moment.”

“Go to the hotel. We have a standing suite. No one is in it right now since most of the Riders have already gone home and we’re here.” She hands me the keycard.

“I’ll drop it off, or someone can come and knock in a bit to wake my ass up. I want to get back to Steeleville soon.”

“Okay.” Grace has a wonderful heart, and Ghost was one lucky bastard to find her when he did. Or rather, he was lucky she and her father found him.

“Whoa. Where are you going?” Wrench says, stopping me from leaving the waiting area.
