Grabbing a pillow, he placed it beneath her stomach. “Now drop down and relax.”

She rested her belly against the pillow, which had the effect of raising her hips. He came over her from behind, lining himself up and gliding into her slowly. From this angle, it was a tight fit, her snug inner walls gripping him in heat.

“Oh, God, you’re right. I feel you so much more this way.”

His entire body shuddered at her words, and he lowered himself on top of her. Keeping his weight off her back, he brushed her hair away from her face and kissed her shoulder.

Every inch of her was silky smooth and he couldn’t get enough. He slid his lips up her neck and grazed his favorite spot beneath her jaw.

“Dash, I need you.” Her raspy voice did nothing but encourage him, and his cock thickened inside her.

“I’ve got you,” he promised, meaning it in more ways than one.

He braced his hands on either side of her and began a slow thrusting, in and out, that had his eyes rolling back in his head. She was so tight but aroused and took him easily, and his need ramped up fast. He wouldn’t last long, and he wanted her to come first.

He slid his hand between her and the pillow, finding her clit and pressing down hard. That touch was all it took for her to roll her hips as she clamped down on his cock, her orgasm washing over her and triggering his own. They came at the same time, his entire being lost inside her.

He wasn’t sure how many seconds passed as he lay, sweaty and satisfied, on top of her, but when he returned to reality, he slid off her with a groan.

She turned on her side to face him. “Wow.”

He grinned. “Never doubt me again.”

She shook her head and laughed. “Anyone ever tell you that you’re cocky?”

“Yeah.” Dash pulled her against him. “But you’re the only one I ever wanted to impress.”

They lay for a long while, silence surrounding them, and Dash soaked in the peace she’d helped him find. Because he knew, come tomorrow, the media train would be in full force and he’d have to face his past.

And come to terms with his future.

Dash woke up with Cassidy in his arms, her presence the only thing keeping him sane when he knew his phone had to be buzzing off the hook with social media alerts and calls. He’d turned it off late last night when he’d gone out to retrieve their cells. Yesterday’s fiasco had to have been picked up by major news outlets. Dash Kingston responsible for a man’s death, news at noon.

“Someone’s thinking too hard.” Cassidy slid out of his embrace and faced him, propping herself up on one elbow. “What’s wrong?”

“I was just realizing everything I’m going to have to deal with outside of this room.”

Her understanding gaze met his. “You can handle it. It’s a storm that will blow over. The sooner we get out of bed and face it, the faster that will happen.”

“Yeah, but there’s no reason we can’t delay a little while longer, for this.” He pulled her on top of him and pressed his lips to hers, his cock growing immediately hard.

She moaned and kissed him back, threading her fingers through his hair, and keeping him in place until a knock sounded on the bedroom door.

“Go away!” he lifted his head and yelled.

“Come out here. You have company!” He recognized Xander’s voice and wondered if his brother was alone or if he’d brought the cavalry with him.

“We’d better get dressed,” Cassidy murmured, doing her best to slide out from beneath him.

“Fine.” He let out a groan and slipped off her, coming to a standing position beside the bed. “We’ll be right out,” he called to his brother. “Sorry,” he said to Cassidy. “But time to face the day.”

She stood and was pulling his tee shirt over her head. “I’m going to jump in the shower. I’ll meet you out there?”

He nodded. “Let me take a quick one first.” His gaze scanned over her, his need as strong as before the interruption. “Wish I could invite you in with me, but we’d never get out there. This way you don’t have to rush.”

She waved toward the master bath. “Go.” She plopped back down on the bed, picked up her phone, and began to scroll through.

He didn’t ask what she saw. He didn’t want to know.

After he’d showered and kissed his girl, he left her to do clean up. Leaving her, he walked into the kitchen to find Xander and Sasha and Linc and Jordan, who’d obviously come from the city, sitting around the large table. He’d been right. Part of the cavalry had ridden to his rescue.

“Are things that bad that you thought you needed to be here bright and early?” He immediately walked over to the coffeemaker, popped in a K-cup, and brewed himself the dose of caffeine he knew he’d be needing.
