Barely managing not to laugh, Ian shrugged and suddenly became very interested in the last of his dinner. “Maybe because Daddy and I were talking about bath time and how I can’t take the phone in the tub to watch cartoons. That’s not safe.”

Cartoons?

I was calling bullshit on that nonsense.

Yeah, those two had done more than just talk about bath time…and it explained the offhand comment Bishop had made about being glad his phone case was water resistant.

He’d probably dropped the damned thing in the tub while he’d talked Ian into getting naked.

“That’s what I thought.” I gestured pointedly with the fry before popping it in my mouth. “We wouldn’t want to do anything unsafe.”

His giggle said we probably had different definitions of that. “Being safe is very important.”

He’d given me a lecture about safety during sleepovers as I’d put him to bed the other night, so he at least knew the basics of it. His rules were interesting, but at least we were both on the same page when it came to glitter.

“I’m trying to decide if I should ask your Daddy some clarifying questions about that or not.” That threat had his eyes widening and it only took a second for him to start shaking his head.

“We don’t want to distract him, Uncle Cohen.” Blinking, it only took him a second to pick up the ridiculous answer and run with it. “We don’t want to distract him while he’s driving.”

Sure.

We’d go with that.

“Then I’m assuming you’ll find something else to tell your Daddy about other than what I bought you for your playroom?” As I gave him a serious expression and raised one eyebrow, he giggled.

“Yes, Uncle Cohen.” His innocent look wasn’t nearly as believable with the giggles, but I didn’t point that out.

“Good boy.” I gestured to the table. “And we’re both on the same page about what we’ve eaten this past week?”

The snickers that escaped as he tried nodding didn’t make me think it would work.

“Alright, new plan.” How could we make this work? “If your Daddy asks about what we’ve eaten, just shrug or start counting. He thinks that’s cute and it will only look mildly suspicious.”

More giggles did not make me confident in our plan, but it was the only thing I could come up with on short notice.

“If you can’t snitch about toys or junk food, what are you going to talk to your Daddy about?” That question had his eyes going wide. “Hadn’t thought about that, huh?”

After a moment of stunned silence, he giggled again, this time naughtier and less little. “What we’re going to do when he comes back.”

Oh, I liked this plan.

“Hmm, you mean what kind of dates you’re going to have or what you want for dinner when he comes home?” The words were boring, but my grin was dirty, so I knew exactly why he blushed and groaned.

“Uncle Cohen.” His exasperated tone would’ve been more believable if he hadn’t gotten even redder and started shifting in his seat.

“You’ve already started talking about that with your Daddy.” I knew I’d hit it right on the money when he groaned again and a hand came up to scrub over his face. “Oh yes, that’s a naughty sub trying to hide right there.”

He couldn’t seem to decide if he wanted to die from embarrassment or grab his dick.

Probably both…and then I’d have to explain to the coroner how he’d died cupping his groin.

Ian finally put his hand down, but his gaze bounced everywhere but at me as he spoke just above a whisper. “I…I reminded him that we’d been tested and that you’d both seen my list.”

The list could’ve referred to any number of things, but I knew what the tested comment alluded to and now my dick was just as hard as his.

“That’s a good reminder, cutie.” There was no way he could’ve missed the desire in my voice. As soon as he heard my response, the wiggling stopped and he let out a breath. “I bet that kept him up for hours.”

And the giggling was back.

“That’s what he said.” Pink cheeks were still highlighting his nervousness, but I could see his confidence in the conversation building. “He said…he said I should tell you too.”

Ah.

Daddies clearly gave the best pushes.

Reaching across the table so it couldn’t be misconstrued, I waited for him to place his hand in mine before I spoke. When he let out a long breath and rested his hand on mine, I barely stroked his fingers over the palm of my hand and smiled. “Such a brave boy.”

Dipping his head, he peeked up at me through his lashes and shrugged like it was nothing, but I could see something bright in his eyes as he spoke again. “I wasn’t sure what you wanted.”

Now we were getting somewhere.

“I can’t remember when Bishop and I had this conversation, but it wasn’t long after our first date.” Smiling at the memory, I probably looked goofy, but it seemed to relax Ian. “I was talking to your Daddy and he wanted to know how we should handle firsts.”
