Lorna was terribly disappointed to know that not only were you getting married, but to witness your merciless reaction at her arrival on your doorstep. She let me know that you threatened to sue her for extortion to teach her a lesson, and went through with it. She received the summons certified mail. Soon thereafter, you left a taxidermied vulture at her place of residence, knowing that she had an alarming fear of vultures and large dark birds in general, that dated back to her childhood.

I take it that your scheming spouse, who is a well-known, exceptionally talented taxidermist, had a hand in that, too. Apparently both of you are fucking crazy, and a match made in hell. Regardless, Lorna isn’t as smart as your new wife, Poet. She should have stopped while she was ahead. Lorna tried to blackmail me for more money than I had agreed to pay her, and insinuated that she would go to the police to tell them about me eliminating her abusive, drug addicted husband from the planet if I did not fork over the cash. Subsequently, Lorna, not being the sharpest knife in the drawer, is no longer with us.

Kage paused, then took a deep breath. He detested Lorna for all the hell she’d taken him through in the past, and the present, but he didn’t wish her dead. She was just desperate was all, and doing whatever she thought she could to get some cash in her hands. He knew how it felt to try to get on your feet. What really broke Kage’s heart though was that he would have never let her be homeless and starve, if she’d only asked him humbly. If she’d come to him as someone he used to love, an old friend and lover from his past, without the threats and all, and just been honest. He would have CashApped that woman some money so that she wouldn’t suffer so much. Her long lasting anguish was never his wish. He didn’t want her to be destroyed, just far, far away from him. Now, because she’d made a deal with the devil, she was eating dirt sandwiches…

Lorna was a bit silly and reckless. I also know that she was an absolute lying whore, and don’t blame you for divorcing her, though I’m certain that she was a juicy piece of tail back in her hay day. Had she still been a looker, I may have offered her additional money to suck my cock, but her face reminded me of a Brussels Griffon dog, so I didn’t put the proposition on the table. She’d been ridden hard and put up wet, or in her case, fucked hard and left wet, over the years. She didn’t age well at all, so it seems you dodged a bullet. She didn’t though.

There’s nothing I can do about that now, so in looking towards the future, here is another wedding gift, grandson. The name of the person who killed your father is a man by the name of…Foster ‘The Hammer’ Anderson.

He was a friend of your father’s, or so one would believe. I’m not at liberty to give you the details because I honestly am not privy to all of them, but I haven’t spoken to him since the day you overheard me on the phone with him. I have no idea if he’s dead or alive, relocated, or still residing here in Houston. Do with that whatever you wish. Oh, and when the baby is born, I will make sure that I see at least a picture of him, Kage. Besides, he’s the first born son of my first grandson. That’s important and divine. Take care, Krazy Kage.

My hatred for you was once love, and though I wish to never deal with you in any capacity again, I do admire your resilience, and that you’re a self-made millionaire. You’re tough, and have an almost inhuman ability to slaughter enemies in record time. What a beautiful gift that is to have. Use it well. Use it often. But use it with discretion. May God keep and bless you.

With my earned loathing and respect,

Cyrus Jedediah Wilde

Kage re-read the last paragraph, then carefully folded the letter. He slipped it back into the envelope, and hid it away inside of one of his toolboxes. He stood there for a moment, his head in a daze. After a few seconds, he stepped out into his vast backyard. It was such a beautiful day, and the sun was shining bright.

I care now… I’m no longer indifferent. Sloth-like. I care about what has happened in the past, but I care more about what will happen right now, and in the future. I wish that my father was here to see me now. I wish he also understood that I can’t promise I won’t go after the man who killed him now that I know his name. My mother’s life changed forever because of the death of my father, and so did mine. I have a child on the way… my son. I’d do anything to protect him and his mother. My wife knows most of me… She knows how I think and operate, but there’s that small percentage of my heart, that tiny little part of me that I keep her safe from. It’s corrupt. It’s dreadful. It’s malicious.
