The Game Series is a BDSM series where romance meets the reality of kink. Sometimes we fall for someone we don’t match with, sometimes vanilla business gets in the way of kinky pleasure, and sometimes we have to compromise and push ourselves to overcome trauma and insecurities. No matter what, one thing is certain. This is not a perfect world—and maybe that’s why the happily ever after feels so good.

PROLOGUE

Kit Damien

“Little Rudolph! The mischief factory on wheels is here!” Colt hollered from downstairs.

“Okay, thank you, Daddy!” I rushed to screw on the caps on the paint jars before I switched off my lamp and hurried out of my hobby room.

Today was going to be so fun.

And for me to even think that was proof of how far I’d come these past six months. I was barely shy at all anymore! I had more friends than I could count on all my fingers, I was a total brat, and I had so many plans. I loved, loved, loved that. Almost as much as I loved my Daddies.

I darted down the stairs, past the second floor, all the way to the first, where Lucas waited with my coat. The living room was super cozy now with Christmas decorations everywhere. Rosa had helped us; she had the right touch for it.

Lucas smiled. “You realize this outing raises a fair bit of suspicion, yes?”

I grinned impishly and pushed my arms through the sleeves. “How so? We’re just gonna buy Christmas gifts for our amazing toppy Tops.”

Colt laughed in the kitchen. “Yeah, I’m sure that’s all you’re gonna do.”

It totally was! Sort of!

“Do you have your wallet down here, love?” Lucas asked, poking his head into the kitchen. “Mine’s upstairs.”

“Sure.” Colt joined us in the rush-hour traffic zone between the kitchen, the living room, and the hallway. “You were gonna eat at Macklin’s, right?”

“Yes, Sir.” I nodded and zipped up my coat. It was freezing outside, but the snow didn’t want to stay on the ground just yet. “I’ve saved so much of my allowance, I’ll have you know.”

’Cause I wanted to buy them the best presents in the world. But yeah, okay, so I was still going to dip into my bank account, which I thought was understandable. The allowance thing was mostly symbolic—and to keep track of my ice cream spending.

Colt handed me a fifty, which made me look at him all puzzled. “Treat Gael to lunch too.”

Oh! “Sometimes I forget you’re a Sadist, Daddy.” I pocketed the bill. “You’re so sugary sweet, you know? Thank you very much.”

He furrowed his brow. “I give you lunch money, and you insult me to my face?”

I laughed and hugged him. “Isn’t it better I do it to your face than behind your back?”

That made Lucas crack up.

“Fuckin’ brat,” Colt chuckle-muttered. “Gimme a kiss.”

Gladly. I reached up when he dipped down, and I gave him a big smooch.

Then it was time to hurry. My friends were waiting. I had friends now.

Lucas and Colt followed me to the door and peered outside, smirking when they saw the teal-colored brat van Noa, Cam, and a new member named Camden were in charge of. But Camden was sort of a hybrid member…? I was fuzzy on the details, but he and his two Daddies lived primarily in Nashville and New York. They weren’t in town now.

“Have fun today, sweetheart.” Lucas kissed me on the forehead.

“I will. Love you, Daddies!” As I yanked on my mittens, I ran out to catch my ride.

Tate opened the door and smiled. “Hop in, hon.”

I beamed back. “Hi!”

Oh gosh, so much fun. Tate was here, and Cam was driving, Noa sat next to him, then Corey and Shay…

“Where are Gael and Archie?” I knew Macklin wasn’t joining us till we had lunch at his restaurant.

“Gael canceled—said he wasn’t feeling well,” Tate answered.

Oh poop. I had to call him later.

“Archie’s on Daddy Duty with Greer,” Corey responded. “Sloan spent all day yesterday with Kyla and Emma-Jo outside, and now they’re sick. They get sick aaaall the time! Not super sick but enough to get cranky and feverish and sleep a lot. So Greer is cuddled up with the girls, and Archie’s fussing over Sloan.”

Aw, that sounded all kinds of sweet. And I only thought that because I’d recently gotten to experience that with Colt and Lucas. They’d come down with some stomach bug that’d kept them in bed for two days. And they’d been so pitiful and adorable!

After three hours of shopping, we arrived at Macklin’s restaurant in Logan Circle, completely famished.

“Right on time.” Macklin smiled and gestured toward the stairs. “I’ve reserved one of the smaller dining rooms for us.”

One of the reasons I loved his restaurant. It used to be condos way back, and now it was a popular establishment with several themed dining rooms. It was like coming to a new restaurant every time, depending on the room you ended up in.

We headed up to the second floor and down a hallway, until we reached what Macklin referred to as the lounge. The tables were a little lower, the chairs a little cushier, the lighting a little dimmer. It was perfect!

Two servers joined us, and the moment I sat down and shifted my shopping bags between my feet, a menu was extended to me.
