Sky scooted his chair closer still and tapped a pen on the notepad. “Yep.”

I spent the next thirty minutes giving him a brief tutorial of the software program we used and showing off a few bells and whistles before opening the McGregor file. “Okay. This is a BBC computer specifically issued to me. Did they say when you’ll be getting yours?”

“Tomorrow.”

“Cool. It’ll be configured like this one.” I pointed at the icons for the programs I’d discussed, then gave him a sideways glance. “I’d suggest not downloading any porn. Save that for your own computer.”

“Thanks for the warning. Is that something you learned the hard way?”

Was it my imagination, or did Sky put a little extra emphasis on the word “hard” as he pressed his thigh against mine? Not that it mattered because the second the thought crossed my mind, my dick swelled in my jeans. Fuck me. And I’d been doing so well. I’d been all business, one hundred percent serious and focused. And now…I had to think of something intelligent to say.

“You smell good,” I blurted.

Fail. As in…wow. Total fail.

“Thanks. So do you.”

I shook my head as I turned to face him. “Sorry. I didn’t mean it that way.”

“What way?”

“A gay way. I meant…you smell better than you did last time,” I said in a rush.

He chuckled. “Oh?”

“Yeah, um…you smelled like sunshine. But like sweaty sunshine.” Not good, but it was all I had. I stared at the computer screen until my certain blush faded.

Sky pressed his thigh against mine again and sniffed my shirt. “You smell like soap and maybe a little cologne.”

I shifted in my chair and huffed sarcastically. “I don’t wear cologne.”

“Your soap must be perfumed or something.”

“The fuck?” I shoved away from the desk and wheeled back to put some space between us. I’d officially reached my limit. I couldn’t be this close to him and not combust. And yeah, that was probably super fucking gay, but I couldn’t worry about that right now. It was more important that I didn’t come in my jeans.

“What kind do you use? Let me guess. You like green, so…Irish Spring?” he asked, not bothering to hide his smile.

“No.” I pushed his chair so it rolled a few inches. “What makes you think I like the color green?”

“Green Lantern, of course. And you’re wearing a green shirt.” He scooted close again and tugged my sleeve.

I furrowed my brow in mock indignation. “This is bluish gray. Not green. And I don’t have a thing for Green Lantern, so—”

“You said you did.”

“No, I didn’t.”

“Did too.”

“Did fucking not. And if you don’t quit throwing my words at me, I’m gonna…”

“You’re gonna what?” he prodded.

I stared at his full lips for a long moment and gulped when I felt a pull in his direction. Like he was a magnet. If I got too close, I’d end up doing something I shouldn’t. Again.

“Nothing.” I hooked my thumb at my laptop. “Let’s get back to this.”

“Okay.” He inclined his head and shrugged. “Must be a secret soap.”

“Dude, I use Dove or Ivory or something boring like that. No scent.” I sniffed my arm like that was proof before typing gibberish on my keyboard to look busy.

“Got it. Green is not your favorite color, and you never watch porn.”

“No green, yes porn.”

Sky’s eyes twinkled merrily. “But not in the office.”

“No way. With my luck, Harry’d sneak up behind me just as the tits.com browser popped up. He’d probably comment on her beautiful hair and lovely tattoos while I pressed ‘exit’ and wondered if I’d ever get an erection again.”

Sky threw his head back and guffawed. “Poor guy would have a heart attack if he saw my browser history.”

“Dicks.com, eh?”

“Yep. A few variations, but that’s the general theme.”

I kept my fingers on the keyboard and typed, “llsyayioqieiieooplnkfaeflje…” I couldn’t look at him and talk about dick or porn or soap or my favorite color without stuttering. The longer I sat next to him, the harder it was to act cool and collected and business-y. But I couldn’t deny I was curious too. Between that kiss last week in the parking lot and Elliot’s booty call, my mind had wandered to new places. I had so many questions. The type I should probably have saved for Google. Sky was less than a foot away, though. And I couldn’t help remembering how sweet he tasted and how damn good he felt.

I lifted my hands from the keys and licked my lips before turning to him. “When did you know you were gay?”

Sky arched a brow and crossed his arms. “I think I was twelve. Why?”

I ignored his question and barreled on. “How’d you know? Was it one day or a lot of days put together? Hey, I know this is out of the blue and unprofessional. And in spite of what you’re thinking, this isn’t about me. I’m just…curious.”
